WOYWW: Learn to Do Good

This is to one side of my desk
as the other side looks almost the same as last week.
Not really.
Just as messy and disorganized as ever!
Really, I should take an hour on
Tuesday to clean up!
So what do we have here- paint pots,
one upside down, a charger (so that's where it's been!),
a used ribbon, ballpens and pens, etc.
Towards the back I've got wall putty and gesso
on the shelf.

"Whoever wishes to be GREAT among you,
shall be your SERVANT." Matthew 20:28

Let me tell you about Lucy, our helper.
She is a saint!
She does everything at home- cook, clean,
wash and iron, takes care of our garden,
plants beautiful roses, reminds me about my medicine,
and MY schedule!
I do not know what we would do
without her!

All my relatives want to clone her.
We say that when we get to heaven, she would
have the largest mansion!

"Learn to do good." (from the 1st Chapter of Isaiah)
I have to admit I learn many things
from Lucy.
I know it is possible to have a servant heart,
and be continuously thinking of others!
She puts others first!
and makes it possible for me to
make my art and work the whole day
and attend all my meetings in community!
Thank you Lord for Lucy!
She's the great one in our family!

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,

last week about how God did not
create for anyone's approval
but for His own enjoyment!

Joining the lovely Julia Dunnit for a

Sometimes I put on my best pajamas

Be of Good Courage!

"Wait for the Lord with COURAGE,
be STOUT HEARTED
and wait for the Lord!"
Philippians 4:1

I thought of Red Riding Hood,
out to do battle valiantly
against a very real evil.
Last Saturday I attended a Transparochial meeting
and the objective was that our united Christian communities
would do battle against forces that would seek
to destroy life, our families and marriages.
There are bills in Congress that
are pushing for abortion, euthanasia, divorce, etc.

" Your Heavenly Father
makes the sun rise on the bad and the good."
Mt. 5:45

I realize that these lawmakers think
that they are pushing for measures that
would improve our society.
They see bad marriages and
think that the way to solve it
would be to allow divorce in our country.
They see old people suffering and their way of
solving it would be to allow euthanasia.
They are seeing things through worldy eyes,
not through the eyes of faith.

"My joy and crown...stand firm in the Lord!"
This is what St. Paul wrote to the people of Philippi.
St. Paul thought of those long ago Christians as
his crown, as the jewels in his crown.
How much more does Jesus think of us
as His, the apple of His eye,
worth every drop of blood He shed on the cross,
worth every humiliation He suffered
at the hands of men who saw with earthly eyes?

Let us not see with worldly eyes,
but see the world with the
eyes of faith.
Would it not be wonderful if
Jesus saw Himself reflected in our eyes
when He looked at us?
May we learn compassion
and generosity and be like Him,
but may we also be courageous
and stout hearted when we need to do battle
on His side!

PPF: Who do You Say that I AM?

Ever since I joined Paint Party Friday,
Fridays seem to be coming along more quickly!

After drawing Queen Esther
knocking on God's door,
I traced her on to one of my backgrounds
and started painting over.

I always start with flesh acrylic paint.

"Ask...seek...knock..." Mt. 7:7
Queen Esther's prayer in the Book of Esther
is beautiful,
but I have one complaint.

"From birth, I have heard among my people
that you, O Lord,
chose Israel among all nations,
as a lasting inheritance,
and that you fulfilled all your promises to them,"
she prayed.
Should not she have had personal experience
of God answering her prayers
and keeping His promises?

"Who do you say that I am?'
Jesus asked Peter in Matthew 16:15.
If we have a personal, growing
relationship with Jesus,
we would be able to pray,
"You chose me among all
to be Your beloved!
To be the apple of Your eye!
Thank you for answering my prayers
and for keeping Your promises to me!!!"
