Let the children come to me

"As for me and my household,
we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24

My household.
That would include our children.
I only have one son,
and a few months ago he asked
if he could go to Madrid for
World Youth Day.
My first reaction was,
"No way! You're too young!"
He's 16, and he's never travelled
without his parents.

But eventually after praying,
talking to my sisters,
we allowed my son to go.
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me."

We have to help our children grow
in loving the Lord, knowing Him,
serving Him.
And so, my son is in Spain now,
attending a youth camp
with many other kids from all around the world.
He said he's met some Lebanese friends!
After that, he and his group will
join the World Youth Day activities in Madrid.

Thank you lord for this wonderful opportunity!

Patsy - so good of you to visit me at the Writer's Reverie and comment so sweetly about my son's story. Yes, loosening the reigns is always difficult as our children grow. May your son be blessed and drawn closer to the Lord on his venture!

I do love your paper art. I am just stepping back into crafting again after almost a decade of writing and performing focus. I need the hobby to stay creatively strong and love meeting artists in Blogworld who can inspire me in the craft and in the Lord. I'll be following you - hope you'll do the same with me!
    Joy!

  7. Such a blessing you are to your child. It's always a hard decision for parents on learning when to hold back and to let go. But when God is made as the center of making decisions, we surely can't go wrong. It's also a big blessing for you that your son is close to God :-) Bless you and your family!

  12. You're so brave, Patsy! (And right, I'm sure.) Dear Heavenly Father: Thank You for presenting Patsy's son with the amazing opportunity, and thank You for her willingness to let her son go. Please protect him, Father, and bring him home safely as a better and stronger child of the King for his time away. And please bless his mother for her faith in You. In Your name I pray, Amen.
