WOYWW: Boils Down to Love

This is my desk when I woke up this morning.
I was just finishing up a painting,
one of several for an Art Fair in 2 weeks.

As you can see, I still have not cleaned my desk,
and I hardly have any space left to paint!!!
My painting is already hanging over the edge!
Several canvases to the right which I still
have to work on.

And some more unfinished paintings on top of
my drawers.
LOTS TO DO and sooo little time!

I read today from the Gospel of Matthew,
Chapter 5.
Jesus told His disciples,
"Do not think that I have come
to abolish the law or the prophets.

"I have come not to abolish
but to fulfill."

"Amen, I say to you,
until heaven and earth pass away,
NOT the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place."

Now what in the world does that mean?
I think there are some passages in the Bible
that we will understand when we see Jesus
face to face and ask Him.
Then we will say, "Wow! So that's what it meant!"

The thing is, the disciples, the Pharisees,
the scribes, the tax collectors,
they ALL had that chance!
And some of them chose to ignore it.

Although we don't have Jesus to ask face to face,
He did leave us the Holy Spirit.
And what I know is
ALL that Jesus did and said
boils down to LOVE.

Love. Compassion. Generosity.
If we make our journey here on earth
spreading this, throwing this around,
I think Jesus will say,
"You got it!!!"

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

  1. Some lovely work and wonderful thoughts going on here, Patsy!

the LORD Jesus came not to abolish but fulfill He was talking about the law of Moses of course. He came to fulfill the law not abolish it.
He fulfilled the promises made throughout the ages to the children of Israel, by prophesy after prophesy from the faithful prophets.
On the day that he died on the cross He fulfilled 33 Old testament prophecies..
The true fulfillment and complete fulfillment will be when He comes again.
"Amen, even so, Come, LORD Jesus" Revleation22, which is where the New testament ends.

  12. As always, I love your work!

Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament promise of Messiah who would be the sacrifice for our sins. The sacrificial system of spilling the blood of animals in the temple only pointed to the perfect sacrifice to come.

Appropriate thoughts, with Resurrection Sunday coming in a few weeks. :-)

    Happy creating and Happy Woyww,

  15. I just love your artwork. Wonderful shades for your art of Jesus. I can share with you what the scripture you read means. I will try to keep it in a simplistic way. There really is alot to this scripture, but I will just share this with you. When Jesus began his ministry in his 30's, many thought he was trying to say that he was going to or try to do away with the law (which was the ten commandments, and then all the other laws the Jews added. He was telling them, that he hadn't come to do away with it, (to get rid of it), but to fulfill it. By fulfilling it, he meant that his death and resurrection would fulfilling the law. How? Because in some of the laws, it required them to make sacrifices in the temple for the removal of their sins. The Jews would take a animal, lamb, pigeon, what ever you could afford, to the Priest in the temple. You would confess your sin to the Priest, he would pray and place the sin on the animal, then the animal would be killed, the blood of animal would be spilled, and God would cleanse the sin from the person that was guilty. Point being something had to pay for the price of sin, shed it's blood and life would be taken. Through Jesus death he did this for us once and for all. The Law no longer applies to us. Jesus full filled the Law for all of man kind, but, for His blood to be applied to our lives and for us to be made right with God we must accept him as our Lord and Savior. We must be born again. After this when God looks at us, he no longer sees us, but His son Jesus standing there, (Speaking in spiritual terms of course) because of His shed blood. I hope this helps you. Thanks for joining us this week at WAW. I do post writings about the Bible from time to time on my blog, so I encourage you to stop by and follow my blog, I know you will be blessed as you learn.
