Feed the Hungry!

In the Old Testament,
the Jews were enjoined to
give of their first fruits.
After all, EVERYTHING we have is from
God's goodness,
and we just give back to God
what He has given us in the first place.
Most of the time,
we forget that All we have,
ALL we put on the table,
ALL we are able to give and share
is from God's bounty.

In Matthew 25:45, we read
God's reminder that what we do
to the least of our brothers,
we do to Him.
What we DO NOT DO for the
least of our brothers,
we DO NOT do for Him.

Even if we pray all day,
and fast three times a day,
and we did not share our food
with the hungry family
by the street,
we did not give clothes or shoes
to someone who had a tattered dress
and no shoes,
God will NOT be pleased!

How wonderful is our God
who identifies Himself with those
in need,
with the least, the lost,
the hungry, the mourning!
We have an intimate connection
with our God.
That is why when Saul was
persecuting the Christians,
Jesus said,
"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting ME?!!!"

"You shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring whose water never fails."
Isaiah 58:11
This is one of God's promises
to those who feed the hungry,
comfort the broken hearted,
do good to those in need,
help those who are burdened...
The world is full of these
"least" in the world's eyes,
but very important to God!

Let us not forget that while it is good for us
to feed our souls and pray,
it is also important to God that
we see with His eyes
and love with His heart
those who are important to Him!

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!
This week,
Random.org chose,
Visit her blog to see her
wonderful oil paintings
and other experiments
with doodling, zentangling,etc.

Sometimes I put on my best pajamas
and join these great parties!

  6. Beautiful post & beautiful reminder. Sometimes we get caught up in our own lives and forget how important it is to help others. (thank you for linking up at CEO of Me this week!)
