Yesterday a new Pope was selected by the
115 Cardinals at the Conclave.
Pope Francis promises to be
man for the poor, the underprivileged
and those forgotten by society.
Moses was the leader chosen by God
to lead his people to the
Promised Land.
It was very difficult for him
because many chose to worship idols
instead of the one true God.
They were very fickle!!
Today many people today
choose to worship idols made by
their own hands!
It doesn't have to be a golden calf!
We can choose to prioritize
our work, our friends,
our popularity, even our art
over God!
It is very difficult to be a leader
and like Moses,
to intercede for your flock!
But a leader, whether it be Moses
or Pope Francis,
will never be forsaken by God!
In Psalm 34, we can read,
"Many are the troubles of a just man,
but out of them all
the Lord delivers him."
Every week I choose one wonderful visitor

ReplyDeleteDear Patsy
ReplyDeleteI love the childlike innocence of your art!! I pray that the new pope will forget about all the pomp and splendour of the Vatican and truly bow down to the poor whom our Lord Jesus loves so much and serve there. We should pray that our Lord will show all leaders, that He is the only leader and that they should introduce all under their care to our Savior King!
Much love XX
