The Unexamined Life

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books which were written." John 21:25

"The unexamined life is not worth living," Socrates claimed during his trial for impiety and corrupting the youth. Jesus' life seems to be one of the most examined lives in history. And here John writes that much much more could be written about what He did and said. The more important point is all the Gospel writers believed Jesus was the Son of God. They were inspired by God to write down Jesus' history the same way the Old Testament authors painstakingly wrote about how God chose a special people and revealed Himself to them.

Thank You Lord for going to all this trouble for a recalcitrant, stubborn, disobedient people. You don't give up on us, never will! May I learn as much as I can of what You have chosen to reveal about Yourself.
