Show Me Your Freedom Lord!

Last Sunday, I read Mark chapter 10,
which was about Bartimaeus, a blind man,
who was shouting, "Son of David, have pity on me!"

Jesus asked,
"What do you want me to do for you?"
Can you imagine yourself
in Bartimaeus' place,
and Jesus asks you,
"What do you want me to do for you?"
What will our answer be?

Will we ask for small things,
every day things,
because we are too ashamed
to ask for bigger things,
too fearful we will be disappointed
if our prayers are not granted?

Or will we ask to see God's vision for our life,
so that we can cooperate with Him?

There are many people like the
crippled woman in Luke chapter 13
who had been in bondage for soooo many years.
Maybe we ourselves are struggling
with some illness or family complication
and are in need of freedom.
I myself have a rare immune disorder
called Pemphigus Vulgaris (whaaaat?)

"Show me Your freedom Lord,
and help me share it with others!"
I believe that when we ourselves
are in need of salvation,
we can be more compassionate with others,
kinder, humble, meek and patient.

Let us put on therefore these clothes that
God has given His sons and daughters to wear.
Let us be compassionate and kind
as we ourselves are in need
of compassion and kindness!

Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.

I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
and I appreciate that soooo much!

  10. I preached on this very passage on Sunday and have been asking myself the same question this week. What do I want Him to do for me? Good thoughts, Patsy. And, as usual, your art is amazing!

  11. You've got me thinking about what I might ask. Today, I'm asking for big, not small. And loving that painting of the woman - walking in freedom!
