Paint Party Friday: Fix in Your Heart

Although I am late for Paint Party Friday,
I did have a real one at home with my friends and sister.

I promised my friend that
even if she did not know how to draw,
she would be able to make art.
How?
By tracing I said!
So she was very happy to learn something today.
Tracing can teach us how to draw
and the muscles of your hand will remember
what you trace if you do it often enough.

I traced this image as an example
for her to see how easy it is!

Today I read from Deuteronomy 4:
"Fix in your heart,
that the Lord is God
in the heavens above and the earth below,
and there is no other."
How do I fix in my heart all the
wisdom in the Bible?
By repeatedly tracing it in our minds,
by reading, and meditating on it.

That is how we can embed it in our hearts!

Everyday God gives us opportunities to
step out in faith.
Everyday God asks us,
"Do you trust me?"

And it is only by having the Word
fixed in our heart,
that we can say,
even in the midst of storms,
"Yes, Lord, I trust You!"

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,
Random.org chose
#3, La Abela , a woman who talks to herself,
as she claims, and draws amazingly
with charcoal and graphite.

  8. Thank you for loving a verse, Patsy. Its so important to soak up all He is saying, to really seek out His voice by meditation. Not only to apply it to our lives, but also to love His words, and His law, His commands. He is our best thought.

I appreciate the woman in meditation because I think many Christian Westerners have no idea that it is good to meditate on the Scriptures. To chew on the words until they are 'fixed' in our hearts. For this reason, your new image is powerful and important.

  10. Visiting from PPF and Paper Saturdays. I agree with you about teaching someone to draw. Tracing, and copying so as to learn too, are so useful and give confidence to people who feel they can't draw. And then, of course, they have always been told that tracing and copying are not really art, so they have to leave that behind. With confidence they can start to make the pieces their own and move forward. She must be very grateful for your help.
I very much enjoyed reading your post, the photos and the artwork.

Your message - about tracing is much like how we need to be with God - tracing what He does:)What beautiful encouragement - in your art and friendship!

  14. I love that all of your artwork (which is very lovely) is inspired by the word of God. By the way - tracing is perfect when you are having trouble with an image - trains the eye and the hand. Blessings

  16. Great message. The gal on the tightwire is adorable. Yes, step out in faith. Yes, I too learned about tracing when I first started. I thought it was cheating, then I got one of those overhead cameras and put the picture in and drew it. . . after, I was able to do all sorts of things with that outline. It does teach. Blessings, Janet PPF
