Wash Yourselves Clean!

 "Wash yourselves clean!
Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes."
Isaiah 1:16

"We know that if we leave dirty clothes
in the laundry basket for weeks,
they will start smelling bad!
That's why we do our laundry every week.

Well, in a similar way,
God is calling us to wash ourselves every day
from the things that threaten to spoil our hearts."
from The Word Among Us daily meditations

How great is God's love for us
that He gave us this wonderful gift of
forgiveness and reconciliation!
And it is available to us every single day!
Imagine if there was an abundance of water
available for us to use,
and we did not bathe every day!
Instead we would go around smelly and dirty!
What a pity! What a waste!
God is not stingy with forgiveness.

Look at Rahab who was a prostitute
but she is now listed in Jesus' genealogy,
because she married Salmon, the great great
grandfather of King David!
"So do not be afraid,
you are worth more than many sparrows."
Matthew 10:29-30
Do not be afraid to approach the Lord
who is full of mercy
and wants to wash us clean!

As a thank you to all you wonderful visitors

  4. Don't know how can I thank God for washing me clean by his word and by his love. And we need to wash ourselves everyday, not only with water, but with God's words:)

  5. Pasty, I don't know if I've mentioned this before but "Have you ever thought about putting all these paintings and writings into a book?"

Such would be a blessing to so many people. You've really got something special here.

  6. This reminds me of when Jesus wanted to wash the disciples feet and Peter asked Jesus to wash "all of him." Isn't it wonderful that our Savior can do that when we simply recognize our need. Beautiful words and encouragement here, Patsy!

  11. My heart was washed clean when I was a child. I love this painting and the truth behind it. We had a missionary from Romania last Sunday. She works with a group of gypsy children once a week. To keep them quiet during teaching she gives each one a bar of soap. They sit quietly and listen because soap is so precious. I pray each one will have the soap applied to their heart!
