Seeing God's Face

"Where do I go to see your face, O God?"
Psalm 42:2

Do I have to go far?
Do I have to wear a fancy outfit?
Do I have to make sacrifices?

We can see Jesus in our neighbor,
we can see Jesus in the hungry man
begging in the street,
the persistent call center agent
who keeps bugging us to buy something,
the needy neighbor,
the man in QC Jail.

Sometimes we think of ourselves as
so much more important than others.
But God wants to free us
from the tyranny of that kind of arrogance,
from striving to attain the goals
we have NOT submitted to Him,
from seeking more and more and more.

"Lord, my heart is not proud;
nor are my eyes haughty.
I do not busy myself
with great matters,
with things too sublime for me.
Rather, I have stilled my soul,
hushed it like a weaned child.
Like a weaned child on its mother's lap,
so is my soul within me."
Psalm 131:1-2

That is how we see God's face, is it not?
When  our soul is still.

Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.

I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
and I appreciate that soooo much!

This week Random Generator
chose #32,
Christine is a Filipina too
and because of her blog has
seen ordinary things
in an extraordinary way.

Sometimes I can't resist putting on
 my best pajamas
and joining these blog parties!!!

    1. and your words, too. Especially these:
      God wants to free us
from the tyranny of that kind of arrogance,
from striving to attain the goals
we have NOT submitted to Him,
from seeking more and more and more.
      Amen.
