Yesterday I read the 4th chapter of Hebrews:
"...we have a great high priest...
one who was similarly tested in every way..."
Jesus knows what we go through in our lives.
He was rejected,
he was scorned,
he suffered...
In Ephesians 2:10
we read,
"For we are His HANDIWORK,
created in Christ Jesus
for the good works
prepared in advance..."
Not only does Jesus know
what we go through,
but because He knows,
He is able to form us,
mold us,
prepare us for our mission.
My friend Marion
had a little pottery making session recently
this is the precious gem she learned:
"You can't do anything with the clay
unless it is CENTERED.
Only then can you make pots and wares.
Otherwise, it is rendered useless
and the potter cannot even
make anything out of it!
If not centered, it gets damaged
and it sure wouldn't
look much of a beauty!
For some of us,
For some of us,
God needs extra time to mold us
like the clay I did today,
with so many ups and downs
before it is ready to be created
for something great.
For some, it takes only awhile.
But nonetheless, for all of us,
until our lives are
CENTERED on the Lord,
we are all but useless shards
and we count for nothing.
All of us are God's clay.
All of us are God's clay.
He has made each one of us
for His special purposes.
Until we center our lives on Him,
He cannot use us for His glory."
Psalm 139:14 states it well:
"I praise you God
for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!"
Thank you for being my Potter!
Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
and I appreciate that soooo much!
This week Random Generator
chose #64, Denise of Shorty Bear's Place.
Join her in her heartful journeys.
I'm also sending Nancy of Maddalee
an ATC for being my
500th GFC follower.
Visit her blog for colorful
printables and projects.
I love blog parties!
Won't you join us?

ReplyDeletethis reminds me of one of my favorite worship
songs: "Jesus, be the center."
Oh to be centered so that He can form me into what it is He's called me to be! Thanks for your continued inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove tjis and it is true. God must be the center and the first in our lives:) have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteYou have to have one of the most original and beautiful journals anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting to come back later in the week to check who has won an ATC. I must make an effort to remember this week. They are so beautiful.
That is such a nice reflection from your friend. Lately I think I am losing my CENTER... and I really have to focus and recollect myself. Thanks for this beautiful reminder :)

I love it when you do anything from Ephesians! It is my favorite ever since I went to Ephesus.
ReplyDeleteYes, to be centered on Christ is the only way we can truly be used by him. I don't want to be useless clay. Some days I feel like I am b/c I didn't put God first and center. Thank you for this reminder.
