What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday: My Prayer Journal

Everyday,
when I pray in the morning,
I draw in my journal,
or embellish bible verses.
It used to be that when I prayed
first thing in the morning,
I forgot what I read
and prayed about
in a few hours!
These are the bible verses
I meditated on this morning:
Hosea 10 and Matthew 10,
the Catholic church's readings for today.
Above is my rendering of Judas Iscariot.

We can all be like Judas if we
betray Christ by sinning
AND not repent.
But if we repent of our sins,
small OR big,
God is quick to forgive.
He has a very compassionate heart!
Simon Peter denied Jesus
three times.
But he cried when he realized
his sin, and repented.
He became a leader of the church.

Repentance
makes all the difference.
Here is what I prayed about yesterday.
I still remember
because of the drawing I made
of a woman harvesting!

Is there a special way that you pray?

Thank you to Julia
and to Mr. Dunnit

for my special
easel!
It's unbelievably generous
of both of you!

If you'd like to take a sneak peak
at what other people have on their work desk,
head over to Julia.
I guarantee you'll want to
join in on the fun!

  7. No, actually there isn't...I guess I'm one of those people who think, 'He' is far too busy doing more important things, if my day is anything to go by, image what His must be like, probably timeless I guess, so I hope that any little thought of a prayer that might be in my head, if it's important enough, He will answer it in His own way, meanwhile... I do love your drawings in your journal and your ATC! Have a good day!

  11. Good morning! Great journal and good idea to help you pray!
I was going to say that i'm not religious and therefore don't pray but on thinking about it i have dreams and wishes and often think about how grateful i am for what i have, so perhaps my prayers are just in my head for the time being....

  16. Desmond Tutu is my Hero and he said ' if I diminish another, I diminish myself' if forgiveness is not an expression of unconditional love then I know not what is...

I try to behave in a loving way rather than pray, but can understand a need to be in contact with God...

    Love your altered bible...

  27. This is a wonderful way to keep your prayers and thoughts, and a way to be able to go back are reread them, and keep track of answers.

I keep a written journal mostly for my prayers and quiet times. But my general journal has them in too, as well as scripture or quotes I want to remember.

Yes, we do have a loving and forgiving God!! :)

  29. I love what you are doing in your prayer time! I'll think about doing something like this too. Oh, how cool to illuminate a Bible with drawings like this. Some people would find that a bad thing but I think it would be powerful.

And for those who are reading your blog and feel that God is far away and too busy to care about little details, well, it makes me so sad because God is so very personal. I love the book "The Misunderstood God" and think everyone should read it.

    Thanks for the inspiration!
