The harvest is plentiful
but the laborers are few.
Luke 10:2
Jesus always talked of the harvest.
He was always concerned about others.
And as His disciples, we should also
be concerned for the welfare of others.
This is a test of discipleship,
that we are compassionate towards
our neighbor,
that we invite them to know God.
Many years ago, when my husband
was young, he was part of
Christ's Youth in Action
and he went to Luneta Park
as part of a team.
They were supposed to
just talk to strangers and
talk to them about God.
My husband saw a young man
seated on a park bench,
but at first he didn't approach him.
He kept walking, hesitating to
talk to anybody.
When it was almost time to
get back to the group and report,
my husband finally approached the young man.
It turned out this young man
was contemplating suicide,
and because my husband talked to him,
he didn't.
Let's be more concerned about others.
Who knows?
You might even save a life!
