Paint Party Friday:Compelling Love!

I have been quite enamored of Mystele's style

of  what she calls "Pulled Art". 

She makes a mess of a background then

"pulls" images out of it.

She has lots of videos showing how she does it. 

Here's what I started with this morning.

I wanted to illustrate the verse from Timothy:

"All scripture is inspired by God

and is useful for teaching, 

for refutation, for correction,

and for training for righteousness..."

So I needed to find someone reading the Bible! 

Do you see the figure on the right?

Here she is!

I didn't even have to draw her eyes!

Mark 12: 

"Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar,

and to God what belongs to God."

Since the coin has Caesar's visage,

Jesus says income tax must be paid 

the government.

And we are made in the image of God,

we belong to Him!!

This verse is also from Mark 12:

"Hear O Israel, the Lord our God

is Lord alone!

You shall love the Lord your God

with all your heart,

with all your soul,

with all your mind,

and with all your strength."

It is easy to love the Lord 

if we know Him.

His love is compelling!

WOYWW 157: Discover your Gifts!

This was taken at 5:30 in the morning

after I did my journal.

The picture is not very clear because I manipulated it with

the BeFunky camera app on my Ipad.

This doesn't seem any clearer.

But you may be able to see my two canvases at the back,

well, actually 4 canvases, 

but only two are new!

On my journal is one of my favorite verses.

It's from 2 Timothy 1:6:

"Stir up the gift of God that is in thee."

All of us have been given wonderful gifts.

We have to discover it, use it,

develop it, and share it.

If we do that we will bloom and grow.

We will be a blessing to all around us.

I don't think I have discovered all my gifts yet....

I like to think of myself as 

wrapped in His favor!

truly is there anything to fear?

"He has bestowed on us the precious 

and very great promises,

so that through them

you may come to share in the

divine nature..."

2 Peter 1: 4

There are sooo many promises

in the Bible.

Have we put them in our mind and heart?

In Proverbs 4:20-22 we are instructed

to hear God's word and 

embed it in our heart.

"They are life to those that find them,

and health to all flesh."

These are all important instructions

so we can share in the very life,

the divine nature of God!

Intense Love!

This is what I drew for my journal this morning.

A verse from 1 Peter 4:

"Let your love for one another be INTENSE,

because LOVE covers a multitude of sins."

I like this verse because we make many mistakes,

disappoint even ourselves sometimes,

but love can make up for those mistakes!

In 1 Corinthians 13, it says that

LOVE is greater than faith and hope.

I guess this is because even if we have 

the kind of faith that moves mountains,

if we don't have love for others,

what would be the use of that?

We would just be using it for ourselves!

Here are some of the projects I've started.

Here is a face on bookpaper 

covered with wall putty.

And here is an ATC I've made

as a sample for our Crafternoon this

afternoon!

The vase is from a plastic ampule of

Flixotide, which I cut in half.

This is why my craft room 

is full of garbage!

I usually find a way to use it!
