We had a four day weekend
and I thought (mistakenly as it happens)
that I would be able to do some
badly needed cleaning up
and organizing.
But I did start on a canvas.
I have no idea why this is lying down
when my saved picture is right side up!
Here's my journal page for today.
It's not yet finished as I need to do other things
before going to work.
Matthew 25:37 reads:
"Lord, when did we see you hungry
and feed you,
or thirsty and give you a drink?"
This passage got me thinking
about Steve Job's last words:
"Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow!"
We'll never know what he saw,
but it must have been something awesome!
What happens when we die is a mystery,
but in this passage of Matthew,
we get a hint that what we do for the poor,
the hungry, the homeless, the prisoners,
the sick, the weak, matters a lot.
It will determine where we're going to end up!
Scary? Not if we live life
by the golden rule, and start living
with love and kindness for others today.
After all, that is how we will live
in our eternal home.
We may as well start now!

I love this painting and the verse is perfect!:) You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post today!
ReplyDeletehahah the more time we have on our hands the less we do, I am finding with working 5 days that I do more crafting than when I was at home all day. You are very talented with your drawings

I really like the idea that you thought of a tidy up and ended up painting - such is the strength of inspiration - works for me - she's looking beautiful, even at a jaunty anlge!
ReplyDeletelol, that's the kind of thing that happens to me. My sister told me the other week it's because we're chronoptimists, which I thought was a great descriptive word :) We're convinced we can do more in the time we have
ReplyDeleteps loving your textured pieces you've featured in your sidebar!
You are so right! I wondered about Steve Jobs' last words too. Even though I am not a church goer, I try to live my life by helping as many folk as I can in whatever way - otherwise we waste our precious time here on earth.
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ xx
we didn't have long weekend here... I could really use some days to unclutter our home! But even with holidays, there's just too many other things to do and I'd up not uncluttering... ugh.
ReplyDeleteI love the passage and your arwork as usual :)

ReplyDeleteYes - just a little help for others each day can make a BIG difference in the world. x Jo
ReplyDeleteI think you made the right choice ...do what you are inspired to do.
ReplyDeleteYour canvas is gorgeous, and your journal inspiring as always.
ReplyDeleteThis week I am asking for special prayers for a friend's son.
Happy WOYWW
Things rarely turn out the way we plan but I'm sure you enjoyed painting better anyway. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #59
ReplyDeleteWonderful thoughts Patsy. Yes this is so true. If we all just treated each other a little better, with the thought in our mind, that we just may be administering to an Angel or even the Lord...what a better world we'd live in. Happy WOYWW! :-) xo
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy - I love your painting. Its so awesome and those greens, so refreshing. Thank you, precious lady for joining in on my bloghop. I so appreciate it and hope many visit you from it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Tracy
I love long weekends so much, and especially as summer is on its way here in Australia and the pool is beckoning, but sadly we haven't any more until late November and then summer break begins for 8 glorious weeks... going to attack some canvases then... yours is looking great!!!
ReplyDeletePainting is much more fun than tidying! Lovely Canvas. Happy WOYWW #93 ~Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
ReplyDeleteWhat a PERFECT piece! LOVE it! I too often think about what we leave...our leagacy of who we've been...praying my life reflects Jesus so that I can stand one day before the one who made me and hear, "well done, well done good and faithful one."
ReplyDeletepeace,
lori
Even though she ended up lying down, I can still see her pure and real beauty. I can see a simple girl overflowing with happiness and enthusiasm to share to everyone.
ReplyDeletegreat painting and journal page! Hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #68
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Painting over tidying any day and what lovely results, at whatever angle.
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy - me again! Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. In addition to the poultry grit, I've now decided to try cat litter in my art too!! (Whatever next, they say...)
ReplyDeleteYou will be pleased to hear that after posting my blog post, I tidied my ARThaven table and all that dumped stuff is now put away! Still haven't done any art, though.

Patsy, I think you should just follow your heart - if it says "tidy" then tidy, if it says "paint" then paint - think of the joy you are bringing to so many when you paint.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing, Hugs, Neet (late posting again)
Your artwork says a lot. Great verse for your journal today!
ReplyDeleteLook at the wonderful artwork...good thing you crafted!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your site and I will definitely be back. Love you artwork and the thoughts you pen in your journal.
