It is 4:20 in the morning here in the Philippines.
I am watching Christian Amanpour on CNN
reporting on hurricane Sandy.
Lt. Gen. Russel Honore just said that
neighbors have to be the ones
to check on each other
and that more people were helped and saved
by neighbors than by the government.
When we had our typhoon here,
the same was true.
Volunteers initiating and helping
were able to lessen the
magnitude of the disaster.
Many heroes were born
in the midst of the maelstrom.
That is true of any adversity.
It brings out the best in most people,
it brings out cooperation
and compassion.
This is the desk I am working on this morning,
with my journal.
The topmost photo was caused by
a local hurricane, Patsy.
It's my box of mark makers-
apple protectors, bubble wrap, sponges,
placemats, stencils, bottle caps,
handcarved rubber stamps, etc.
Does someone want a small handcarved
rubber stamp?
Place a note in the comments,
and I'll put you in the hat for one!
I LOVE carving stamps!
Here is the finished drawing.
"Children, obey your parents
in the Lord, for this is right.
Honor your father and mother."
Ephesians 6:1
This instruction is NOT only for young children!
This is for you and me!
We should bring back the
culture of honor and respect.
Usually we think of how teenagers
have a hard time with this.
I remember when I was single
and my parents had the chaperone rule.
One time NOT ONE of my three sisters
wanted to go out with me on a date to a
Christian concert.
You know who I brought?
My dad!
My date asked me,
"Patsy, why did you do this to me!?"
I thought it was hilarious!
(How insensitive of me!)
But I did obey!
And was rewarded with a
very good husband who follows
the instruction of God below:
"Husband, love your wives,
even as Christ loved the Church."
Eph. 5:25.
I do believe that with
obedience comes blessing!
Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
and I appreciate that soooo much!
This week Random Generator
chose #21,
Carol of Creative Harbor.
She is a prolific painter and poet.
Joining the lovely Julia for a
peek at desks and projects!
I love blog parties!
Won't you join us?
Sometimes I put on my best pajamas
and party here:
