"She poured it all for the Master,
from her box of alabaster..." Luke 7:36-50.
Never heard this beautiful song before,
originally sang by Cece Winans.
And I can't resist Lillie McCloud's rendition on X-Factor.
This is about a woman who had lived a sinful life,
who was so grateful that Jesus forgave her sins
that she poured her most precious possession
on Jesus' feet.
The song goes,
"You don't know the cost of the oil in my alabaster box"
....but surely Jesus knows!!!
What is our most precious possession?
Are we ready to "waste" it on Jesus?
Sometimes the fight we need to fight
is trying to overcome our attachment to
things that lead us away from God.
I was listening to Kenneth Hagin on YouTube
and he said the only fight we need to fight is
the fight of faith.
Jesus already defeated the enemy and sin.
And how do we fight the fight of faith?
By growing in God's Word!
We can't have faith beyond
our actual knowledge of God's Word!

ReplyDeleteI can so relate. A sinner saved by God's grace and love. And still, I need to choose everyday the right path to travel, right words to say and right decision to make. And that I can only do with the inspiration from God's words:)
