You Call Me By Name

"I have made you a light to the Gentiles..."
Acts 13:14
This must have been an amazing message
for the Jews to hear
but so welcome for the "outsiders"!
And so it continues today.
Sometimes we take the Word of God for granted.

Do we really treat the Bible
as if the words written on it
came from the Creator of the Universe?
Sometimes we are so bored reading
the same words over and over again!
But these are the only words
that can give us fullness of life!

Thank you Lord for being patient with me!
Especially during those times when I want to
just rush through my prayers and my reading of
Your words of life and truth!

You call me by name and you guide me.

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,

Sometimes I put on my best pajamas
and join these great parties!

PPF: Who are You, Sir?

I've taught myself never to say my work is ugly,
and I'm not going to start now!
Especially since I can't fix this,
as I am leaving in a few minutes to go
to the beach!

This is St. Paul before he was a saint
...when he was Saul,
and intent on persecuting Christians,
the ones who followed The Way.
Jesus stopped him
and asked,
"Why are you persecuting me?"
"Who are you, sir?" Saul asked.
"I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting."
After Saul learned about Jesus,
he began preaching about him,
traveling all over to tell everyone who would listen
that Jesus is the Lord
and we must all follow Him!
Isn't this an amazing story?
What could have converted a man sooo angry
at Christians because he was a man who wanted to protect the
Jewish way?
Only a personal, intimate knowledge of the man who called him!

I am giving another workshop
called "A Future Full of Hope".
We will be painting over collage.

Here it is, all painted over,
but I still have to put words
using gel medium.

WOYWW: The Most Priceless Jewel!

"Streams in the Desert", compiled by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman
is one of my favorite books.
My mom has lots of stories
about how it is so relevant for the person
reading the meditation for a particular day.
So much so that a friend called it a "magic book"!
Once, my mom was praying about the problematic skin
of my younger sister, and when she opened
the Streams in the Desert,
it had instructions on using aloe vera!!!

On the left of my desk,
I have a pile of paints.
I usually like pastels and so most of the colors
here are light colors.

Today I read in Streams in the Desert about
a magnificent diamond found in an African mine.
The King of England sent it to Amsterdam to be cut
by an expert lapidary.
After several weeks of drawing and planning,
the lapidary, made a notch in it,
and struck a blow with an instrument.
He did the one thing that
 would make the diamond radiant.

"So sometimes God lets a stinging blow
fall upon your life.
The blow seems an appalling mistake.
But it is not, because you are the most
priceless jewel in the world to God!
And He is the most skilled lapidary
in the universe!"

Just like St. Stephen (Acts 7:56) and Nathanael (John 1:51),
we too can see the heavens open when we pray.
God loves us so much
that He does not want to withhold any good thing from us!
