What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

 Here's my desk today.
The scraps canvas from last week is all
puttied up and ready for a first layer of painting.
You have to dry the wall putty really well, or
the paint will whiten.
And here's my journal page.
It's all about praising the Lord
and singing to Him.
I know this helps, because one time,
I was in real pain,
and a friend who didn't know what I was
going through, texted me to say I should praise the Lord.
After she texted me several times,
I sang praises to God,
and I fell into a peaceful sleep.

Connie at Dirty Footprints Studio
is giving away visual journals and other stuff
if we tell our journal secrets.
I don't really have a secret.
I've been journalling since I was a young kid,
writing, writing, writing.
Then in 2006, I started collaging on my pages.
Now I draw and paint.
My favorite base is bookpaper
covered with wall putty.
I don't know if you want to see a close up
of my canvas, but it's the only one I'm working on at the moment!
I think I'll paint yellow and pink on it for a first layer
and we'll see how it goes from there.

Joining the lovely Julia for a
peek at desks and projects!
Why don't you tag along?

  20. I love the texture the "wall putty" gives your art work! (I've used "joint compound" - are they the same thing? Or is it more like a spackle?)

  22. Thanks for sharing Patsy and so agree with what you say about praising our wonderfully gracious God whose heart cannot then be happier after doing that... and re the layers to build up - you dont put gold leaf on each time but the glue size is layered layer upon layer an then when high enough add the gold leaf then.. done about 7 or 8 now think it maybe enough cant tell till dried.. .. happy WOYWW and thanks for popping over, Shaz in Oz.x

And yes, I do want to see the base for your canvas,it's a matter of great fascination to me how your art grows.
