"Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth.
All things are vanity!" Ecclesiastes 1:2
Who in the world is Qoheleth?
Apparently, this is Hebrew for preacher or teacher.
And Ecclesiastes is a latinized derivation
of the Hebrew Qoheleth.
For this teacher, all has no meaning, no purpose.
If we concentrate on the misery, the evil, the corruption
there is in the world, surely we can say
all is chaos and vanity and all is worthless!
In the same book of Ecclesiastes,
we read:
"God has made EVERYTHING
appropriate to its TIME,
and has put the
TIMELESS into our HEARTS."
Ecc. 3:11
I like to think of God putting the
TIMELESS into my heart!
I haven't figured out yet what
that REALLY means.
All I know is that
our TIMELESS, ETERNAL GOD
broke into our world
and has made everything possible
for us who believe!
Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
(I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
I love to visit but sometimes,
it is such a pain to leave a comment
because of all the word verification
and different passwords, etc.)
This week Random Generator
chose Anesha
She does scrapbook projects and cards.
She can choose which one she likes
from the ones above.

ReplyDeleteA lovely collage--and important food for thought, especially now. I'm as true-blue American as anyone, but I really struggle during election seasons because everything you see and hear is so negative. We're such a divided country at this time, and it's easy to forget that ultimately, God is in control of all. His Will will be done, no matter what happens on Election Day.
ReplyDeleteAs I've visited your blog the past few months, I've felt a growing need to tend to my spiritual needs and return to church. I haven't been a regular attendee for awhile, mainly because of the discomfort I feel in congregations that are a bit too conservative for me. Finding the United Church of Christ has been a great blessing, as I feel they best represent who I am and my perception of what it means to be a Christian. Thanks for being here and pointing the way back!
love your backgrounds and how you incorporated such beautiful lettering!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely work and messages. Happy PPF and thanks for sharing .
ReplyDeleteAnother great project and blog post. hmm, "putting timeless into your heart!"...I would say that I am looking forward for that day that time will not matter to us. When we leave this earltly existence, we are catapulted into the timeless world and God wants us to put our hope in that which is eternal than that which is temporary. As a believer, we no longer cling to which will end but to the finished and eternal work of Jesus Christ. This is our blessed hope that we will one day rule with Him in His eternal Kingdom. Thank you for blessing us with your art this week at Word Art Wednesday. Hugs!

Timeless, eternal--living with Jesus forever. Your painting, as usual, speaks words with each paint stroke.
ReplyDeleteEvery page of yours inspires me so much. Whether its the verses it's self and sentiments or the beauty of the drawings and art on it. Love the words on your pages and your drawing is amazing. And then the post itself leaves me inspired. Looking forward to enjoying your art because it inspires me deeply.

Your art completely blends with the beautiful words you quote...love the way it evokes good thoughts!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! so fascinating that seemingly opposite words can make sense in the same book. As always, love your work. xo Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... as always! I love Ecclesiastes 3:11. Such a wonderful reminder!
ReplyDeleteGreat verse! And I totally agree about the comments. Half the time I end up doing it several times because I can't make out the words. Thankfully I learned how to turn that off so people don't have to deal with it on my blog. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteLove your quotes, as always Patsy. They really make you think! And with woderful art to go with it...it's super! Lovely ATCs....would love to get one myself :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Patsy. As always your artwork and words provide such a blessing to my soul. Thanks for linking up with me this week.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever told you, but I'm proficient at only stick figures. :) When I see your work here, I daydream, if only momentarily, what it must be like to have such a gift.
You've created beautiful art to go with beautiful scriptures.
