This is what greets me when I go downstairs to my craft room.
I have been trying to make a stuffed doll for my other blog,
our shop blog, papemelroti,
where I post tutorials of some crafts I make.
A close up of this shapeless form as yet
and my little sewing box.
This morning, I read 1 Corinthians 7
and I chose this background.
I found a lady and decided to draw a flower
to symbolize the world passing away.
Indeed, no matter how beautiful a flower is,
or a woman,
it fades, grows old,
passes away.
That is how the world is!
But we do not belong here fortunately!
We are made for Heaven, our real home!
How do we keep this in the forefront of our minds
while we go about our busy lives?
Perhaps by memorizing a bible verse during the day,
or by counting our blessings!
I realize how much God loves and cares for me
when I see how my husband loves and cares for me!
I believe my Covenant Community,
Ligaya ng Panginoon (Joy of the Lord),
prefigures the community we will
join in Heaven.
This makes Heaven more real to me!
What makes Heaven more real to you?
Each week I choose one from those who comment
to pick an ATC for me to send them
as a thank you!
I so appreciate your taking the time
to comment!
I know how time consuming it can be!!!

Congrats to Kay for winning this week. I'm not sure I was able to leave a comment last week. I thought I did, but my computer is SO fragile right now.
ReplyDeleteLove the woman and the flower you drew. Your sentiment would have gone well with 9/11, which we here in the States are all honoring today. It truly showed a dying world (at least NYC) 11 years ago.
Another beautiful page with the perfect verse for today. As stated above, today in the states, we honored the passing of many men and women eleven years ago. And I hope and pray that the devestation caused that day didn't destroy the passing of people's faith. dani #18
ReplyDeleteYou always have such inspiring words and pics. Enjoy your week.

ReplyDeleteI work for a Christian organization that helps rehabilitate ex-offenders. And many from the outside world shuns our dear brothers. Heaven becomes real to me when I see people accept them by giving them encouragement through God's Word.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, your faith sharing is very inspiring ! Ligaya ng Panginoon What language is this in?
ReplyDeleteThank you and god abundantly continue to belss you!
Hi Patsy,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to win one of your ATCs! Thank you, random generator, for choosing my number!!!
As Elizabeth said above, this is the perfect post for the anniversary of 09/11 when so many lost their lives. I've had two friends lose a parent in one week (actually in the span of two days). Words are hard to come by but after reading this post I know where to look.
thank you.
Happy WOYWW

Ha ha. What a coincidence. I am reading this morning about names that was given to us and how it affects us or are we making a a name that Brings glory to God. My verse is proverbs 3:1-6. And my name is ligaya ( joy) and actually a very happy person. In norwegian my initial L.E.V. means live. So i am really happy for my name, but my desire is to live my life to glorify God. That when my name will be remembered as a woman who walk with God. Just happy to see my name written in your post although you are not referring to me:) bless you sister.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful page to fit the scripture. Thanks for sharing.

On a different note, I always believe that the greatest blessing for anyone would always be the Heaven that God has promised us.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know you sewed. And making a doll! Took me ages this morning to finish off a simple envelope bag. It is lined and has batting inbetween the lining and the outer. Don't think I will ever be able to make dolls like you are doing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your artwork too, always full of inspiration.
Hugs, Neet xx

I love how you found the lady on that background..and how you can see what the background will be the background for...does that make sense? Today, your lettering is making me swoon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful art with us again this week at Word Art Wednesday, and..thanks also for the sweet comments of encouragement for our new DT member, Jo Ann. She is definitely a gift from God.

Beautiful artwork, I enjoy seeing how you take the words of the bible and interpret them in your journal. Take care Zo xx 109
ReplyDeleteI didn't see her at first - but I am glad you found her. She had lots to say.
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy beautiful piece again. I agree with Julia your drawing did seem to be reflected in your background piece. Just something else to think about as I feel the effects of that deterioration - we are lucky to see new beauty reflected in the faces of our children. Have a great week. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 5
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful - the pictures and the inspirational words. I had a wise pastor many years back who encouraged us to surrender ourselves and our lives to God every day! That has been my daily goal - and as I tell God, if I forget on any day - I still mean it :) I couple that with daily time in His Word - whether sit down and reading, which is a rare luxury with all the Sandwich Generation issues of caregiving I currently have, or listening to excellent verse by verse Bible studies and sermons on my iPod (I highly recommend Calvary Chapel Philadelphia - excellent!), and constant prayer - and having grandkids watching me all the time gives me an extra sense of accountability. Very good! :) All of those keep me close to God which keeps Heaven close to my heart and mind. Thank you for the lovely food for thought today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work as usual! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteKatie 40
Thanks you so much for blessing us at Word Art Wednesday this week with your beautiful artwork. Your word today makes me stop and reflect on how much God has blessed me. I am so thankful that He is the head of my life!!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, your journal page is both thought provoking and inspirational.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

I saw the lady in your background this time, before you drew her out of hiding. I thought she was carrying a sword though. A flower is much more gentle. Indeed, flowers are just passing through this world, as we are. It doesn't sound so depressing when you think of it as we are just here temporarily before moving on to the next place. Mere visitors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting... And I so agree... Heaven is our home and I can't wait to get there!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing your desk :)
