WOYWW: Rich Soil

I woke up to this today-
on the right, a pile of paper covered with wall putty,
on the left, some prepared backgrounds which I finished
before I went to sleep.
Most of the other stuff
should not be there at all!
A toilet paper roll, bubble liquid, an empty plastic bottle,
paper doily, coins, etc.
Really! Looking at my desk,
I'm thinking I should take the time to throw stuff away!

I cleared up enough to start working on my
faith journal page for today.
The gospel reading for today is
Mark 4:1-20
which is about a sower who sowed seed
on several kinds of soil.

Of course I want to be the soil,
the rich soil which would produce
abundant fruit, blooming flowers!

"Some seed fell on rich soil..."

We are sowers too!
We too can plant seeds.
What is the best investment that we can make?
What is the richest soil we can plant in?
The greatest investment of our life
would be if we invested in God's work!
What kind of investment would earn us
rewards that will last for eternity?
Investing in God's work
would give us eternal returns!

"Whoever does the will of God
is my brother and sister and mother."
Mark 3:35
This is what Jesus said.
What better way is there to invest in God's work
than obeying God?

Is God telling you to do something today?
"Whatever word God is sending you today,
welcome it,
act on it, and let it change you."

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

What are the odds that this week,
for the second time in a row,
random.org chose,
#13, the ever popular and witty
Julia Dunnit of

Joining the lovely Julia Dunnit for a
peek at desks and projects!

Won't you join us?

Sometimes I put on my best pajamas
and party here:

  4. I work like that too sometimes...just shoving things aside to have sufficient space to work in. Matter is: the things I through away are often the ones I would have needed for an awesome crafting idea afterwards ;)

Love your cards and your paintings very much!

    Have a wonderful WW!

  5. Well, would it be greedy to not offer to have you re-draw? I can't resist owning your artworks! Thank you! It occurs to me that you sketch and paint quite quickly; as in, you've done the whole page entry this morning before work... you seriously are very sure of your purpose once you decide on the picture aren't you. Fascinating.

  9. Great journal pages and I have to admit while you were listing the items on your desk I was thinking oooh I wonder what will be made with those things then you said they were for the bin. A desk with inspiration

  10. It is so true, we are sowers! I love your lady with the gorgeous flowers and this is one of my favorite parables! Love it! Your work always inspires me. And I'm so glad to find another Downton fan! Did this week's episode have you crying? And I love the example of Mrs. Crawley having pity on Ethel and helping her--so awesome. Have a wonderful week and crafty hugs! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #104

  11. Love your post! And your Bible reading is fabulous! I'm doing a daily reading and am in Exodus, Psalms, Matthew, and Acts. Along with doing a Bible Study on James by Beth Moore. As to Downton Abbey, I've only seen it once but I enjoyed what I watched! Happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting!

  13. Your journal page is very pretty. I love yellow. About your desk - don't throw stuff out if you can recycle them! I love to collect things that would normally go in the bin so I can reuse them in crafting. Have a great week:) Lucy #23 x

  14. I guess I needed to hear this Patsy. I know that the seeds have been planted on fertile soil, and that they're under God's direct care, but waiting for them to take bloom is making me grow weary. I need to keep my eyes fixed on Him; knowing that He WILL bring it to bloom beautifully all in His perfect time.
    Thanks for sharing!
