I have been really busy painting
in preparation for this annual art fair,
Art in the Park, this coming Sunday.
Here is something I finished last night
before I went to bed.
"He is like a tree planted near running water,
that yields its fruit in
due season,
and whose leaves never fade.
Whatever he does prospers."
Psalm 1:3
After a strong typhoon,
After a strong typhoon,
you see some trees uprooted,
but some trees remain.
What is the difference?
It is perhaps the roots.
It is perhaps the roots.
Roots serve to anchor trees to the ground.
But
it is also how the trees get their food.
The more roots and root hairs,
the more a tree can absorb nutrients from the soil.
The roots also are
the trees' pantries,
where they store food for later use.
When a tree is cut down, and its roots remain,
When a tree is cut down, and its roots remain,
the roots can send up a shoot that
can start to grow into a tree again!
develop a strong root system,
that we be
FIRMLY PLANTED and
established in the Word of God,
so that even if we
become "uprooted" because of sin,
there is always hope for new life!
And how important it is that we keep a
And how important it is that we keep a
"store" of God's Word in our
heart,
so that when troubles come,
we can draw strength and peace from
it!
Joseph the Dreamer.
How amazing his story is!
His brothers were so jealous of him
because he was a favored son.
They said, "Here comes that master dreamer!
Come on let us kill him....
We shall see what comes of his dreams."
I doubt if anyone of us had to
contend with brothers like these!
It would be enough to destroy your
confidence, your trust in others,
your belief in a good God!
One thing we can learn from Joseph
is to trust God!
Even if what is happening
is totally disappointing,
even if people you love
fail you and do you wrong,
even if circumstances are worrisome,
BELIEVE that God will make things right.
Believe that God has
better things in store for you!
God will make our dreams come true
if we work with Him
to make those dreams come true!
Don't let whatever happened in the past
come and haunt your present!
Know that God will RESTORE
what the enemy has destroyed
and God wants to do a new thing!
To give you a NEW BEGINNING!
