This morning I am painting the verse
from John 15:15, where Jesus is saying,
"I have called you friends."
How great is that???
The creator of the universe,
the one who put breath in our bodies,
HE calls us friends!
Instead of something else we deserve!!!
But what is a friend?
A friend is not someone who
gives us everything we ask for.
A friend is not someone who says
everything we want to hear
even if it is a lie!
A friend is someone we can trust
to do what is best for us.
A friend is someone who will
tell us the truth whether or not
it will make us happy.
Thank you Jesus for being our friend!
Even if you don't always answer
my prayers the way I want You too,
I trust and love You!
I know You want the absolute
best for me!
I call You my friend too!
"If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love..." John 15:10.
To learn to obey God, we have to learn to trust Him.
And we can't live an obedient,
Godly life, without an open Bible.
The same way we teach our children to obey us,
God is also teaching us to obey, step by step.
Because He knows if we live in disobedience,
we will never experience the fullness
our God has in store for us!
Lord, help me to see my disobedience!
I want the fullness of life you promise
to Your obedient children!
"So keep the words of this covenant to do them,
that you may prosper in all you do." Dt. 29:9

Beautiful portraits!
ReplyDeletePatsy, your paintings are lovely as usual, but what makes them special is the scripture you add. I loved the post about friends. True words.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, thanks for sharing your wonderful art with us, Patsy. You are SUCH a blessing to me. I've been thinking about your Mom and what you went through with her - now as my Dad is in this situation, I can really relate to all you went through. This is SO difficult, and I am hurting in my heart realizing all that you experienced. Thanks for being such a blessing in my life, for your encouraging words, the gift you sent me, and just for being a Sister in the Lord Jesus Christ. You mean so much to me.
