WOYWW: Heart Song!

My desk. You will wonder how I can get any work done!
I finished the painting in a frame, put it in plastic this morning,
and plopped it down on yesterday's painting on my Bible.

Here you can see how I just pile things up until it falls down.
That's how I know how high to go ha ha ha!!!

Now to start on my daily meditation.

"Now Israel, hear the statutes and decrees
which I am teaching you to observe,
that you may live..." Dt. 4:1

Before we can compose a great piece of music,
we need to know some basics of music composition.
To discover the freedom and the beauty of making a beautiful melody,
one needs to be familiar with scales,
major chords and minor, triads, etc.,
the building blocks of music.
Although one may argue that some compose by ear,
hundreds and most well known composers
know the fundamentals, the grammar of music.

When God gave Moses the law, it was not to burden him
and the Jewish people with dos and don'ts.
It was not to put a millstone around their neck so that every day,
they would have to walk this straight and
narrow path like animals on a leash.
First and foremost, the Law identified the Jews as His special people.
"What great nation is there that has a God so near to it?!" (Dt. 4:7)
And second, like the fundamentals of music,
the law gave them the freedom
and the beauty to live good lives
according to God's purpose and direction.
To make a masterpiece of their lives!
We too can make a masterpiece of our lives under
the baton of the greatest composer.
We just need to study God's law and His promises.
Lord, may my life be a heart song offered to You,
and may I more and more appreciate the gift of Your Word!

  8. Patsy, I really love this... I love the idea of illuminating one's Bible in this way, and what a beautiful meditation. Your post is particularly appropriate for me today because this week I have just revived my own music and guitar playing (although not composing). The picture is s beautiful and thoughtful. Thank you for sharing!

  11. Beautiful painting Patsy. Wow, the piles in your craftroom make mine look quite moderate! I do not feel so bad now, but I do have a lot of clutter, seriously! It was great to visit, Judith xx

  12. Your drawings amaze me. And your words hit home for me. I have to remember that the touch of the Master's hand anything is possible.

  19. I love this Patsy. I love your desk - your mind and your creativity. My desk and room get cluttered. Then I can't stand it and have to tidy it up. But then I can't find anything. grrr.

  23. Love your wonderful art here. The drawing is always wonderful. We are so blessed with your participation in our previous Challenge and would love to have you back for our current Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I want to share with you the inspiration from God's Word from Habakkuk 2:3-4 and it says, " For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness---." Have an awesome week!
