WOYWW: Surely Not I!

This is my desk out in the garden.
It is very pleasant here
with 3 cats to keep me company!

"Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" Matthew 26:25

So sad. It must have been devastating for Jesus that one of the twelve had chosen to betray Him. "One of you is about to betray me," he said. Imagine that you are among friends, you are all having a good dinner, and one of your oldest and dearest friends declares this out of the blue! One by one, puzzled and distressed, each one asks, "Surely it is not I?! I'm not the one, am I?" This Holy Week, we should ask, "Lord, in what ways do I betray You?" We do not ever want to be Judas, who could have been Saint Judas, and instead chose to be Judas the betrayer!!!!

Yesterday my husband and I watched the movie, "The Case for Christ", which was based on the true story of the writer Lee Strobel. It's such a pity that we were so few inside the theater! When he was younger, Lee was an investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune and an adamant atheist. When his wife became a Christian, he became distressed and decided to prove that everything she believed in was based on a lie. He put all his prize-winning efforts into researching on the resurrection, interviewing scholars, medical doctors, psychiatrists, priests, etc. In the end, he said, "God, You win!" He became a Christian and he wrote about his search for the truth. His books have become best sellers, and he even became a Pastor. Jesus' story is so compelling, and there is overwhelming evidence about Jesus' life, death and resurrection. If we deny Him, we would be just like Judas.

Lord, may I never betray You! But in those times I do, may I be like Peter and not ever be afraid of running back to Your loving arms.

Joining the lovely Julia Dunnit for a

I find a lot of inspiration

  3. Morning Patsy. Let us keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus, that we may indeed NOT betray Him in our daily walk.

I love your bible painting, and praise your for sharing the information about The Case for Christ. Sadly the film is not going to be released in UK until possibly September, but I have ordered the book.
    Bless you
