WOYWW: In the Midst of Chaos

What can I say?
I like working in the midst of chaos!

This is the table on my right.
I have been trying to clear it up for some months now.
Every time a space gets cleared up,
a pile starts growing!
It's like a fungus!

On my journal:
I have been reading about St. Paul and
his missionary journeys.

When St. Paul went to Athens,
he was aghast at how many gods
they were worshiping!
But there was one particular shrine
that caught his attention-
it was inscribed "To an Unknown God".
So he wanted to introduce the Athenians
to this unknown God.

God made us with an innate desire
to know Him, our Creator.
In the same way that an adopted child
will go looking for his natural parents
eventually, we want to get
to know the one who gave us breath
and life.

And the way to really know Him is to read
the book He left us!

Even when St. Paul was imprisoned,
he and his companion Silas
were praising God and praying!
He could be joyful
in the midst of chaos or tribulation,
because he knew that he would
not be forsaken!

WOYWW: Faith Journeys!

I took this at about 5 in the morning,
after my prayer time.
As you can see, I can pray, work, whatever,
on top of piles of paper!

This is what's beneath my journal:
studies of birds.
I don't know how many birds I've drawn!
Finally, I went on pinterest
and got inspiration from the many
feathered friends I saw there!
I need to draw a bird for the unfinished painting
you can see in this post!

My reading was about how
Saint Paul would recount what happened to him.
"On that journey as I drew near to Damascus,
about noon a great light from the sky
suddenly shone around me.
I fell to the ground and heard a voice
saying to me, "Saul, Saul,
why are you persecuting me?"

St. Paul, the great LION of God,
had an amazing faith journey!

As I reflect on my faith journey,
I realize that God does not send us out
without equipping us for the tasks He wants us to do.

"Each of us may be sure that if God
sends us on stony paths,
He will provide us with strong shoes,
and he will not send us out on any journey
for which He does not equip us well."

Are you Up or Down?

Here is my finished canvas.
Thank you to all who gave me suggestions
last week.
I tried covering up her arm with a shawl,
but the too small hand could still be seen
and it bothered me.
So I just made another hand,
and used the "Shawl"
to decorate her dress!

The title of my work is Psalm 16.
"The boundary lines have
fallen for me in pleasant places.
Surely I have a delightful inheritance."

This is what is on my journal page.
St. Paul is rather harassed by his sinful ways!
"Miserable one that I am!
Who will deliver me from this mortal body?"

Sometimes we are up,
and sometimes we are down.
Some days we feel blessed,
everything is going good,
and sometimes we feel miserable like St. Paul!

Whatever we feel,
we should always remember
that God is journeying with us!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday

Here's my desk for your perusing.
It's very crowded as I have a small desk.
One canvas is on top of another.
This is the canvas on top.
It's still a long way from done.
This is the canvas at the bottom.
Did some experimenting with
undertones for the skin
and I'm afraid I just made her look
like she had a rash or something.
I need a LOT of practice!
This is the 3rd canvas,
also a work in progress.
It didn't fit on top of the table and
is lying on top of a magazine,
on top of a box of crochet thread,
which is balancing on top of goodness knows what!

Because there was no space on my desk,
I had to do my journal on my lap.
I was reading about St. Paul,
and how the Jews in Antioch
were so enraged at his preaching,
that they stoned him and
dragged him out of the city
thinking he was dead.
The very next day, he was out
preaching again!!
Now, how does a man do that,
where does he get his fire,
his passion, his conviction?

In Corinthians, St. Paul claims,
"I am what I am what I am
by the grace of God."

And we are what we are
by the grace of God too!
