WOYWW: Light

When I took this picture,
the light was quite bad,
and I had to fix it up
which is what I use now
since Picnic disappeared!

This is what it looks like on the other side
of my desk.

Last week I showed you pictures of canvas
where I applied wall putty.
I am now painting on it.

On my journal,
a verse from John 12:
"I came into the world as LIGHT."

What a difference the world
would be without LIGHT!!

Jesus is the WORD of God,
and the Word is sharper than a two-edged sword.
I think of the Word as like a laser:
it demolishes the darkness,
it can cleanse wounds of dead skin and pus,
making way for healing,
it bring things into focus, brings clarity,
you can't hide from a laser!

What else can laser light do?

  2. These paintings are awesome. I'm still hoping to see a picture of wall putty one of these days, since an internet search doesn't come up with anything called "wall putty." Have a great WOYWW. Of course, I don't have a number, yet.

  11. At Sunday school we had the words "when sin hurts God heals".
We were talking about protection and the kids dressed up in my hubby's welding protective gear. Have a look on my blog for the pics.

  14. Do you know Patsy, if I ever see a pot marked 'Wall Putty', I'm going to buy it. It might make an artist like you. And if it doesn't, it will be so fun to use a material that you use!

Thanks for posting pics of your works-in-progress, as well as your studio! I am so inspired by what others are doing, esp. when it comes to portraiture, which I'm trying to get better at myself. I learn so much from what I see here!

  36. Great artwork, as always. Is the wall putty to give the canvas texture then? Great scripture today. But I confess that my first thought is that with a laser you can drive my cat insane! Then I thought of how people can get their eyes fixed with a laser, restoring their sight so they can see the light. Also, thanks for the picmonkey referral. I wondered what to do in the loss of Picnic. I hadn't felt like looking for a replacement.

  42. I love how God used your words as a "holy echo" today.. the verse that struck me in the quiet of dawn this morning was- 2 cor 4:6- the light of Jesus in our hearts. Your artwork is lovely!

My husband and I traveled to the Philippines nearly twenty years ago to adopt our son. I think he would like to return there some day. Can't wait to show him your site! Blessings, Patsy!

  44. Hi Patsy - I like what you said about Jesus, "The Light" being like a laser. Indeed, He cleanses all wounds, hurts, and sin...washes us and makes us white a snow.

    Blessings,
    Joan
