We are in the Advent season,
a time of waiting, a time of preparation,
a time of hoping.
"Jesus, may I SEE You more fully
this Advent season."
This is my prayer.
It is quite difficult, especially for me,
not to be caught up in the frenzy
of the Christmas season.
We have several gift shops
and ever since I can remember
we have always been so busy
taking care of the stocks in the stores
so that we will have good sales.
How do I prepare my heart for
the coming of the King of Kings?
"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy
from the anxieties of daily life."
Luke 21:34
Yesterday at mass,
Father Herb said we should be like
MILES CHRISTI, a soldier of Christ.
We should be spiritually fit,
disciplined Christians,
free and not enslaved
to many things the world offers-
like cellphones, and email, shopping
and watching all the latest movies!
"Only say the Word and I will be healed."
Matthew 8:8
Only Jesus is our Hope.
Only He can free us.
Only He can heal us.
Let me see You more fully
this season, Lord!
Every week I choose one wonderful
visitor who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know how much time and effort
it takes to leave a comment!
and I appreciate that soooo much!
This week Random Generator
chose #25, Shaz
who has been doing such wonderful calligraphy
since her teens.
Visit her on her blog, Shaz in Oz.
Sometimes I can't resist putting on
my best pajamas
and joining these blog parties!!!
Blessings!
Patsy
Patsy, another wonderful picture and exhortation. We all need to press in ever more closely to see Jesus more fully. Having our eyes fixed on the finished work of the cross is the best and maybe only way. Your art always challenges me to seek Him more often. It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for linking it to WAW.

ReplyDeletePS just doing up the poem for my card this year - this the one i have chosen and would like to share it with you:
It isn't the tinsel, the wrapping or things,
that make me feel happy and Make my heart sing.
The reason is simple (at least just to me)
the reason is Jesus! Yes, it is HE.
He gave us the best, finest gift there could be!
He gave us Himself, When He died on a tree.
So when I see Christmas trees all twinkly with lights
I think of Bethlehem, on that most special night.
I look at the Star, placed right at the top,
and remember the miracle Star and where it did stop.
The presents beneath them, Bring to recall
The Magi and gifts in a cold stable stall.
To many, these things are symbols of greed.
Often they remind me of what mankind needs!
The gift that was wrapped and placed in stable stall
Was the very BEST gift, personal, yet given for all!
So that's why I celebrate the Saviour’s birth,
As Christ is the only Gift of priceless worth!
Love the picture. I was thinking about advent last night and recalling my favourite advent carol, O, Come, O, Come Emmanuel and thinking how for me advent is a time when I often return to that simple longing for more of Jesus.
ReplyDeletePraying this prayer with you, sweet friend. Oh, that I would see him more fully. Happy Adventing, Patsy.
ReplyDeleteLots of truth and lots of great creativity in this post :D I especially liked the first picture x
