New Wine

"New wine is poured
into fresh wine skins."
Mark 2:22

Yesterday in our community gathering,
a Christian leader from Lebanon
spoke to us about being missionaries.
When he speaks of  the battle we are facing today,
the fiercer battle that the Lord is preparing us for,
and a new way of evangelizing, you listen.
He sent his daughter to Syria  for two years
to serve the Christian community there.
It's a new community with only
25 young people and
they are in a real war situation.

"In addition to the anguish of not knowing
whether Christians will be able to continue
to live and profess their faith or not,
they are now struggling daily
to find food, cooking gas, petrol, etc.
They cannot work or go to university,
and money and electricity are
becoming scarce, " he told us.

"Do whatever He tells you,"
Mary told the servants during the wedding at Cana.

This is what we should be doing everyday-
whatever the Lord tells us to do.
Whether we are in a life or death situation
or living our ordinary every day lives.

"One of the key ways to
grow in holiness is simply to obey," he said.

The Word of God is living and effective,
sharper than any two edged sword...
Hebrews 4:12

The Lord still speaks to His people today.
"I would restore your hearts and minds
to the boldness of Pentecost.
I am with you, my sons,
and I am sending you.
Do not be afraid.
I am restoring to you
the boldness of Pentecost."

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week, random.org chose,
I'm excited to say,
#24, the ever popular and witty

  2. Your art work is lovely and it drew me here! Being a missionary in those places would be dangerous and difficult and I wish her all the best!

"Do whatever He tells you,"...you are right, those are words for us too. Not just for the wedding servants.

  7. Just 25 in her Christian community - and in such a Christian-unfriendly place! Yet to God 24 is an army - praying for that 25. Beautiful art and scripture to show His hope and power!

  8. Patsy,
I had just listened to someone? who was talking about the gases expanding in the new wine and that is why new wineskins are needed so they will expand and not crack open. Then I see this masterpeice and read your blog. You are a real gift to the Body of Christ.
Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday.
