PPF: The God who Holds Us Together

I do not know why God allows devastation
like Haiyan to happen.
Why 2/3 of my country is ravaged
and many of my countrymen are desperately
fighting for survival.
So many questions flit through my mind.

But I go back to the source of all wisdom.
The Bible.
In my reading today, in the book of Wisdom,
I read these words:
"All men were by nature foolish
who were in ignorance of God,
and who ...from studying the works
did not discern the artisan..."
Wisdom 13:1

My sister Peggy saw a painting on Instagram,
and she thought, "Oh that looks like Patsy's painting!"
And it was! I had sent it to a friend
and she posted a picture of my gift
on her IG account.
My sister recognized my work.
When we examine the universe,
when we look even at the miracle of our own body,
do we recognize the Creator?
Do we see the fingerprints of God?

I can't say it better than Louie Giglio in this video.
It's worth watching!

At the end of the video he talks about how
we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" Psalm 139:14,
how we are made of 75 trillion cells,
and that every 3 seconds,
50,000 cells die and replaced by brand new cells!

And how LAMININE, a cell adhesion molecule
looks like this under a microscope.

THIS is what holds our cells together,
our body together!

We can know that in spite of what is
going on around us,
in spite of the storms that destroy
homes, livelihoods, families,
whole towns and cities,
there is a God who holds us together!

We need not search far for Him.
"The Kingdom of God is among you."
"The Kingdom of God is within you."
Luke 17:21

We walk amid passing things,
we do not belong here.
Let us live with our bags packed.

Let us remember that buried deep within us
is our identity in Christ.
We are all brothers and sisters,
bound by one Father one God.

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,
Random.org chose
#40, Jenny of  Big Family, Small Farm.
She has a big family of 9!
I wonder how she does it,
maybe she is superwoman
in disguise? :^))))

  1. Patsy, first I must thank you for the delightful ATC you sent me this week. Or it arrived this week in my snail mail box. It is precious to me and so generous of you. Thank you again.

I am proud to see that the California Jewish group and the state of Israel are both coming forward to aid first hand in the healing of the devastation in the Philippines. I pray the help will come in time for all concerned. The loss there is beyond comprehension.
I am so, so sorry for all the losses. Hugs to you and your family and your people!

Last night I partnered up with a gentleman from the Philippines in my ASL (American Sign Language) class. He taught me the sign for Philippines.

  8. So sorry about the devastation from the storm... It's hard to come up with a reason why, so i guess there is just no reason, just something we have to try to overcome.
I love this post, and all of your paintings!
