Help my Unbelief!

On my journal today is a sketch
of the very worried father
and his epilectic son who foams
in the mouth and has seizures,
from Mark 9:14-29.

The father pleads with Jesus,
"If You can do anything, have compassion
and help us!"
Jesus answers, " 'If you can!'
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
TO ONE WHO HAS FAITH."

Then the father responds with,
"I DO believe. Help my unbelief!"

Mark 11:24 reads, "Have faith that whatever
you ask for in prayer is
already granted you,
and you will find that it will be."

It is sometimes hard to understand  these words.
All I know is
FAITH is a gift.

"Every perfect gift is from above."
James 1: 17

And if we ask God for something,
and it is not granted yet,
we can pray like the father,
"I DO believe, help my unbelief!"

  1. Truy, many times I feel that I am not worthy and wise enought to understand the words of God. I always pray for wisdom so I may be able to understand what He often would like to tell me especially The Words in The Bible.

  4. I am thankful that God doesn't expect us to have the highest level of faith all the time. He says if we ask, He will give us more. Thank you for linking up today!

We just studied this passage last week. Sometimes I too must say, "Lord, help my unbelief!"

  11. This has always been one of the most poigiant passages in scripture to me because no matter how much we believe, there are times we still struggle with faith! Thank you for capturing this so beautifully in your art and for sharing at Inspire Me Monday - I can't wait to see what you have to share with us this week!
