WOYWW: Faith and Miracles

Not much change on my desk for this week,
except that I've discovered I can use my drawers
(on the right) for drying canvases!
I put scraps of cardstock on them,
then covered it up with wall putty.
Then I painted a first layer of acrylic on it.
This is how it looks so far.
I'm still going to add more colors and play around
with it, using stencils, and bottle caps, bubble wrap, etc.
On my journal today is the story of how
Jesus was not able to do any miracles
when He visited his hometown of Nazareth.
The people there dismissed him by saying,
"Isn't He the son of Mary?
Is He not the carpenter?"

We too can dismiss Him as
just another prophet,
or wise man,
or good man.

Frederick Buechner said that miracles
do not evoke faith
so much as FAITH evokes miracles!
Yesterday my reading was about the lady who
had been sick for a very long time.
She went through the crowd to touch
Jesus' cloak.
Jesus said, "Daughter, your faith has saved you,"
and she was healed.

  8. Lovely, colourful canvasses - and a fab way to dry them!! LOL! That was stroke of genius, no huge drying racks, when the canvasses are dry, push the drawers back in - brilliant idea :)

  19. Very nice paintings. I one day, a couple of years ago, had a sudden urge to paint and painted a canvas that now is in my bedroom. I've never done another even though I loved it. Seeing your art makes me want to create again!

But I haven't done my own post yet - it'll have to wait til I get home from work this evening.

  22. Drawers are far more useful than just for storing things in aren't they. I use mine for all sorts. You certainly have lots of canvases drying there.

  36. Good idea about using the open drawers - the trouble is that I already use mine to rest other stuff on. One of these days the extra weight will tip them over. Thank you for your visit and congratulations. I use my Kindle as a library, so I can carry all my favourite books with me. I do read new boos, but I also find it relaxing to re read my favourite books. I tend to speed read anyway, and always find something new when I re read books. xx Maggie #112
