WOYWW: Doubting Thomas

Here is my desk. It is very early yet
and the surrounding areas are all dark.
But I do like working when all is quiet
and there is no one awake
(except Lucy who is preparing our breakfast
and our baon, Filipino for the food I bring
to work and my son brings to school).

Well, here is my background.
I am looking for a demoniac!
I couldn't quite find him,
but I did find his hands!

OOPS! I did not notice there is something
terribly wrong with this picture.
The first one who finds it
will get a little prize from me!!!

All of us cry out to the Lord
at one time or another.
But the hand depicted above
is the hand of a demoniac,
or a person filled with demons.
He cried out to the Lord
not because he wanted to be saved
but because he wanted Jesus to leave him alone!
He did not want to change for the better!
Are we open to the transformation
that growing in the Lord brings?
Or are we satisfied with how we live our life?

In John chapter 20,
we find the famous story of
doubting Thomas.
He did not believe the Lord was risen
until he felt the holes in Jesus hands.
Do we believe the Lord can change us?
Even if we doubt, like Thomas,
Jesus meets us where we are!

Thank you for all your visits
and wonderfully generous comments.
I know how difficult and time consuming it is
to leave a comment!
Sometimes it even disappears!
So as a sincere thank you for your kindness,
I thought of picking one of you every week,
to receive a little gift.

This week, I'll be sending
Karen Smithey of Art in the Garage
an email and ask her to choose from
the ATCs above.

Joining the lovely Julia for a
peek at desks and projects!

I love blog parties!
Won't you join us?

  5. I looked and look but the picture looks great to me unless it is a missing finger but sometimes what one calls a mistake is not. Like neal said there are no mistakes in art just a lot of detours on the road to perfection. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #36

  9. Ah well now, I'm sure that message of the picture is not spoiled by the finger! I love the perspective of the hand in front, great impact. I was at a DIY store yesterday and bought some paint for gesso use...and you popped into my head..so I bought 'Putty' colour!

  20. Well, I'm assuming one of his fingers is off the page, so no problems there! What a lovely idea to send someone an ATC, I'd love to get myself organised to do something like that :D

  25. As I see it, the missing finger is symbolic of the man missing something in his life - Jesus! Even though he didn't want to be healed at that time, he was delivered and made whole!!! Love your art work, Patsy - so wonderfully creative, imaginative, spiritual and honouring to God.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
