Wednesday's come around again
and so here's a portion of my desk.
You can just imagine the rest of it!
Everything crammed in and
more on the floor!
On my journal:
2 Corinthians 4:7
"But we hold this TREASURE in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing power may be of God
and not from us."
Yesterday, I drew Rahab, the prostitute
whose life was touched by God.
She is one woman among many men
listed in Jesus' genealogy.
We are all earthen vessels,
weak, easily broken,
like Rahab, prone to sin.
But God in His infinite compassion and love,
can redeem us with His power,
gift us with grace every day,
so that we might live victoriously!
In Ephesians 3:20, one of my favorite verses,
we read that God is able to do
immeasurably more
than we can ask or imagine
according to HIS POWER
THAT IS AT WORK
WITHIN US!!
These are ATCs I received in an amusing swap
themed "My Body is a Cage."
I guess we can say that there's a similarity:
earthen vessels= cage?
And here's an envelope from Ksenia in Ireland.
I'm working on it to send back to her.
I joined her Mail Art swap.
I truly appreciate your visits and comments.
Although I try my best to return your visits,
between family life, work and commitments
to my Christian community,
it's just not possible!
As a thank you to all of you wonderful people
who take the time and effort to leave a comment,
I pick one of you every week to receive an ATC
from me or a postcard of one of my paintings.
The RNG picked Jennifer Carter on Monday morning.
And she chose a postcard of my canvas.

Oh breathtaking beauty - someday I know I will win one. ANd it will be just the right time God allows. Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh patience. These are so amazing. ALways inspiring journal, desk and art. Thank you for making my heart smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous series of paintings! The idea of the "earthen vessel" as a symbol of each of our souls resonates greatly with me. We need to keep up the struggle of making sure our vessel is full of love on a daily basis, because all too often negative stuff is what we carry within it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journaling pages! I love thinking of us as vessels, that even though we can be easily broken, God can come in and fix the crack if we just ask him to.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoy your work very lovely and the colors are fantastic
ReplyDeleteI just love your art - as always. These of "the vessel" are wonderful! The art and the message! Thanks for sharing! :)

Amen to your artwork AND your words! I DO know what it is like to be imprisoned in an imperfect body~one with IBS. God shows His glory, though, whenever I am strong enough to face the world! I am inspired by your work and am awed by the gifts God has given you. Thank you for faithfully submitting to Word Art Wednesday~we are blessed to have you! ;)
ReplyDeletePatsy your thoughts adn art works today are deeply moving, it is true, whatever a person chooses to believe, that there is more to Human Beings than the flesh that surrounds us, you have a good soul, and your beautiful spirit shines brightly through your 'earthen skin'

ReplyDeleteThanks you for sharing this beautiful piece of art and message!
ReplyDeleteI think Julia would bust us right good if she asked that we include pictures of our floor as well. Mine is usually pretty cluttered. Isn't it funny how things come around? Just yesterday someone was talking about Rahab and here she is again today. My body is a cage is an excellent swap theme. How totally fun! It wouldn't fly in my swap group though. You can't get more complex than say 'flowers' there.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! #102
ReplyDeleteBeyond amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Patsy. You have such an amazing gift.
