PPF: Reason For The Season

Happy Paint Party Friday to all my friends!

Mary. How well do we know her?
She was a peasant girl,
not a queen,
very young, a teenager.
Where did she get the faith to say,
"Let it be done to me according
to your word?"

Are we able to say it?
To say to God,
"Let it be done to me
according to Your will?"

If not for her "YES!",
we would not be celebrating our Saviour's birth.
and all the gifts He came to bring us!

John the Baptist recognized Jesus
when he was in his mother's womb.
He leaped for joy!

Are we filled with God's spirit that we leap for joy
when we see him?
When we see him in his most
 distressing form, for instance?
In the beggars on the street,
the prisoners, the sick?

Let us take the time to visit Jesus
this season, and bring Him gifts!

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,
Random.org chose
of Wholehearted Home.
Visit Judith for some
heartfelt wisdom and ideas.

  13. Beautiful, Beautiful post. Love the pic of Mary and John. The Nativity Story is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen because it makes the whole story so much more real. You pay no attention to the 'actors' it is truly wonderful as are these paintings. Blessings, Merry Christmas, Janet PPF

  14. I often think about how young Mary felt as she travelled on a donkey carrying the Son of God. There is the spiritual aspect of her journey, but also the physical aspect and as you pointed out, she was just a teenager. Of course, she knew God had found favor in her, but she still must have had her own fears and doubts as people made their judgmental comments about her condition (the unbelievers). She truly is blessed among women, and she said "My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God, my Savior". She clearly knew that this child she carried would be her own Savior. What a beautiful story. Yes, I think often about young Mary. Thank you for sharing with us this year at Word Art Wednesday, Patsy. I praise God for you; for sending you into my life. I love you, my beautiful Sister in the Lord. I prayed for you this morning and for your Mom. Thank you so much for your love and support, and have a beautifully blessed Christmas.
