Children of God!

"See what love the Father has bestowed on us in letting us be called children of God." 1 John 3:1

Have we let this truth sink deep into our hearts? That our Creator, the One who breathed the universes into being, the One who said, "Let there be light," and there was light, loves each one of us so infinitely, that He calls us His children? He also made sure we could not say, "Why did You not tell me I am Your son/ daughter? Why did You not say You love us? Why did You not tell us all You did from the very beginning to show us who You are? " 

His love for us is so amazing, we will never be able to fathom how He can forgive us again and again. And for those who ask, "How can you say God loves us if He allows so much pain and suffering?" Sometimes that is the way He calls us to Him, if we are too wrapped up in our own little world. Or He allows it to expose what is in our hearts, or because He wants us to grow strong. 

We have only to look at the example of good parents who do everything to take care of a child, but who also punish so the child can learn lessons he needs to learn. God sent His beloved Son Jesus, to walk on the earth, to show us the way, to reach us in human words, to show us what is possible if we believe, and then last but not least, to die for our sins. 

Lord, who are we, that You have loved us since the beginning of time? We are the crown of Your creation, You bequeathed us the gift of Your Spirit. How can You rejoice over us with gladness, and exult over us (Zephaniah 3:27)? We, who put nails in Your Son's hands and feet every time we sin? And yet, You love us! You have proved Your love again and again! It is up to us to see it!
