This is my desk as I left it last night.
I am working on a little painting
for my book (ehem!)
about the gift of Creativity.
You don't have to be so impressed
(if you are!),
because we own a gift shop,
and we design things,
and I can print almost anything I like!
I just have to finish it!
Here is a close up.
It is not finished yet.
Here are some background papers
I use for painting on my journal.
And here is what is on my journal today.
"Every good tree bears good fruit,
and a rotten tree
bears bad fruit."
from Matthew 7
I think of my 17 year old son, Josh,
and how I pray for him every day.
I even pray for the wife
he will have someday
(if he chooses to get married).
We can't stop being vigilant with our children,
because the enemy is prowling about,
waiting to destroy them.
TV shows, MTV, movies, the internet-
I enjoy all these things,
but there is stuff here that could
destroy lives!
So even if you have a good tree,
you have to watch out for the pests!!!
Joining the lovely Julia for a
peek at desks and projects!
I have a confession to make-
I have been feeling guilty
at not being able to return everyone's visits.
Your encouraging and enthusiastic comments
have meant so much to me!
So I decided as a thank you,
to give either an ATC or a little painting
every week to someone
who has been kind enough to
leave me a comment.
I usually make 3 posts a week,
so I'll add that up and
put it in a random generator.
Of course I'll still make the effort
of visiting and commenting
for I so enjoy that too!
I love blog parties!
Won't you join us?

Hi Patsy! I am just praising God right now. You are entry #50 this week at Word Art Wednesday this week. This is the highest number of particpants we have EVER had in our challenges, and I am just SO grateful to God for blessing our challenge blog and answering my prayers to help grow participation and spread His love with crafters. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful art, and for being an encouragement and blessing to our challenge blog. I appreciate you more than I can possibly express. I prayed for you that God will bless you, and that you will continue to join us each week. I'm so grateful!
ReplyDeletePraise the name of Jesus!
Blessings to you,

Patsy, thanks so much for the reminder to watch over our children. My dd is 18 and she has never given me trouble, but I am so vigilant in watching out for her when it comes to others, that my Mom and sister has to keep telling me that she is now an adult. I know that she is, but this world is still a scary place, and I feel that it is my duty to try and keep her safe from harm if at all possible. Your post made me feel like I am doing the right thing by her. thanks- dani31
ReplyDeleteAs usual I enjoy what's on your desk, Patsy. and you are so right about praying for our children...mine are both married and nearing 40, but our love and concern for them never stops. Bless you, Gail
ReplyDeleteA lovely piece of work, as usual. And just to let you know the ATC from the WOYWW swap hasn't made it to the UK yet. I hope it will, but with Royal Mail you just never know.

Always a lovely desk! I never make it round more than half the desks on WOYWW, there are just too many... have a good week. Helen,26
ReplyDeleteSuper post as always, I find your words always mean something to me, so thanks for sharing. Take care, enjoy this week's snooping extravaganza! Zo xx 74
ReplyDeleteThose are very wise words - I try my hardest to ensure that my sons have the right skills to keep the pests away from the good tree...but making their own mistakes is the best way to learn quite often...as we did ourselves...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments on my blog as ever!
Hugs, LLJ #3
I love visiting your blog and seeing your gorgeous artwork and reading what you have to say. Thanks for letting us have a peep into your workspace today. Hope you have a good week. Hazel, WOYWW #27 x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous backgrounds and as always inspiring words.
ReplyDeleteSandra @105
Hi Patsy I am not really a religious person but I do appreciate your wise words to ponder. I do believe though that it is possible for a good fruit to come from a rotten tree in human terms. There comes a point in our lives where we become responsible for who we are. WOYWW Hugs from Helen 89
ReplyDeleteI love stopping by and seeing what you're up to ~ you're so talented. You always inspire me to be creative (I just don't have the talent!). I find Helen's comment above interesting. I am good fruit from bad. But it was hard and only by the grace of God was I able to overcome.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Felecia
can i make a reservation for the book on creativity, teacher?

Luckily my little (pot bound) apple tree, although quite rotten with cancer, goes on year after year giving us a few sweet tiny apples every year...although the blackbird usually gets them first!! Love your art work! Bit late, as no internet much yesterday! HaPpY WoYwW ((Lyn)) #32

ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!
Hi there Patsy, well not sure what is happening this the third time have come to comment on this post other two times it just all disappeared..and as said so agree about watchfulness in prayer for ourselves and those we love lest caught by the snares of the devil... as Song of Solomon says: "the foxes, the foxes that spoil the vines..." ie foxes take the fruit of the vineyard.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping over and thanks for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #50
Patsy, It's been a few months since I've popped over, and as usual, the inspiration comes in spades from your Art and your Faith. Peaceful wishes to you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty about not being able to visit everyone - there is enough of us now to share the love around without people feeling left out.
ReplyDeleteInspiring work on your desk - and I do understand what you are saying about the world and our children. Darned mobile phones and computers....
Thanks for stopping by - sorry I'm a bit late getting back!
Your art is so beautiful. And you are so right about good trees give good fruit. But we do need to watch out for bugs and such.
