Here I am
unashamedly,
unabashedly
showing off my mess of a workdesk
this Wednesday morning!
For that is what I do
EVERY Wednesday
for a couple of years now!
How AMAZING is that?!
This is what I started with this morning.
I found a face on the upper right side,
and filled in the profile with flesh acrylic.
And here she is,
liberated from the background!
Matthew 6:4 reads:
"When you pray,
go to your inner room..."
Don't make a big to do about it!
And here is what was on my journal yesterday,
from the 5th chapter of Matthew:
"Love your enemies, and pray for those
who persecute you,
that you may be children of the heavenly Father,
for He makes the sun rise on the
bad and the good,
and causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust."
Just as it's easy to find faces in a
messy painted background,
I think it is also easy to find enemies
if we go looking for them!
Sometimes we feel "entitled",
and quarrel people because they
don't give us what we think is our due!
Why, just the other day,
I got angry at a sales person
for not accepting my voucher,
although I realized afterwards that it was
not her fault!
Something that is taking me forever to finish!
The sweet lady who commissioned it
wanted a piano,
and I've never drawn a piano before!
What a challenge!
But that's how we grow,
isn't it?

So much wonderful creativity. Love your art. #14
ReplyDeletePatsy, it is so good to be back and see your lovely work. Even though I always find your drawings are beautiful, it is the verses you use that always give me pause for thought.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the prayers while I was out with my back. I am always humbled by the kindness of strangers and yours was well beyond what I am used to. May you have a blessed week! dani22

I came when there were no comments and my computer quit working. Seems that happens every time I visit. It has something to do with some script that is running, according to my troubleshooter.
ReplyDeleteYour piano is awesome. very nicely done and great perspective, too.
I know what you mean about enemies. Just today a lady called while I was trying to work in my garden and was attempting to sell me something. I got very short with her and hung up. I could have been nicer, because she had a job and I was being very rude. In fact, I felt bad after I hung up. Happy end of the day WOYWW from # 10.
Wonderfully done! I love finding faces among the paint and you brilliantly bring them forth. Happy WOYWW! Warmly, Tracy #105
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy! Such lovely artwork--and true words from the Gospel! I too used to get very impatient with people who work at stores and restaurants, when they made mistakes or it didn't seem like they understood what I wanted. Of course, last year, when I started working at my local Hobby Lobby, I discovered how awful it felt when a customer was rude, as well as the joy that comes from dealing with a positive, kind, understanding customer! I definitely think twice now before giving anyone a piece of my mind, and feel a lot more empathy for those whose job it is to serve the public.
ReplyDeleteSuper backgrounds, lovely ladies and great semtiments/Scriptures. BJ#47
ReplyDeletethat is a great piano and piano player!
ReplyDeleteWell, your work desk may appear cluttered but it is nice to see the beauty that comes from it. I love the end result of your piano challenge!
