I always enjoy coming to a party!
Especially if it has anything to do with paints!
Even if what I'm going to show is half finished!
If this comes out nice enough,
I'm going to add it to a page in my
altered book,
for the class I'm doing with Elizabeth.
I'm reading a book, Swan Thieves,
by Elizabeth Kostova.
The main character is a brilliant painter
who needs some psychiatric help.
He tells one of his students,
"Draw everything. Do 100 drawings a day!"
Is that what a takes?
And on my journal this morning,
a verse from John 10:
"Believe the works."
A lot of people did not believe
Jesus was the Son of God.
All His miracles, healing,
good works, teachings
were not enough to convince them!
Some people believe He was
just a good man, a prophet,
BUT HE said He was the Son of God!
He can't be a good man
and then lie about His identity!

Blessings,
Patsy
Indeed! All we need to do is to believe in the wonders of His works :) Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it takes 100, but I know for sure practice makes people do better :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely portraits, thanks for sharing! I like the texture a lot.
Happy PPF!
So well put. :) Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love how you pulled that one phrase "Believe the works" out of that passage. It really makes me think more deeply about that passage. And I love the woman's face...I love the text behind her image. Thanks for sharing you gifts.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting and words! That book by Elizabeth Kostova sounds good. I read "The Historian" by her and really liked it. I'll definitely look for "The Swan Thieves."

ReplyDeletethere is a kindness to each of your paintings, lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful works both- and don't apologize for sharing a WIP! I LOVE seeing other artist's processes, and besides; I'd NEVER make it to the party if we had to show finished work every week!

I think drawing or attemptiing to find time to draw every day is enough for me. But 100 drawings? No. I tire after about four, which is my limit.
ReplyDelete(in one hour)
I like your top drawing best!
HPPF!
Believe and it will come true. Well most of the time. I do like your painting. Her hair is wonderful.

ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful pages/paintings!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting and post. You're right. Calling Jesus a good man is not an option. If He was a liar he was not a good man. I'm glad you pointed that out,
