I have been reading Isaiah 12:
"God indeed is my Saviour;
I am confident and unafraid.
My strength and my courage is the LORD,
and He has been my Saviour!
With joy, I will draw water
at the fountain of salvation."
From the background, I found a woman
with her arms lifted.
Every morning, I look forward to "drawing water",
drinking from the life giving font
of God's Word!
Yesterday, I read from Matthew 18
that we should forgive seventy-seven times.
This is not for the other person
but for ourselves!
We must forgive because if we do not,
it is like we are imprisoned!
We are not free!
"To forgive is to set a prisoner free,
and discover that the prisoner was you."
Lewis B. Smedes
"The weak can never forgive.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong."
Mahatma Gandhi
Is there someone you need to forgive
to set yourself free?
Every week I choose one from my
wonderful visitors who take the time
and trouble to leave a comment,
to receive an ATC or a postcard from me.
This week I will send Natasha of Define Your Joy
her choice of an ATC.
Visit Natasha to see her paintings
bursting with joyous colors!

Your paintings are wonderful - love your "Isaiah" lady - the book of Isaiah is very precious to me for many reasons - also my wonderful grandson is named Isaiah.

ReplyDeleteLove to see what emerges through the background. :) Great quotes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletePatsy, your post is such a blessing. I love how you have drawn out a figure from the background. Beautiful work. And thanks for the post loaded with wonderful scriptures.
ReplyDeleteLove your artwork this week, as always, and also love this line in your post:
ReplyDeleteEvery morning, I look forward to "drawing water",
drinking from the life giving font of God's Word!
I especially like that phrase: "live giving font on God's Word"
Thanks for sharing, Gail

Lovely work. I especially like the first one and how she emerged from the background for you. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteLovely work. Is this a completed from an earlier piece? Seems familiar to me or maybe I just already came here. LOL Forgive me. Still good!
ReplyDeleteLove how you create the colours and patterns in the background and add your image and words step by step to create such a beautiful picture.
ReplyDeleteThe top picture is particularly beautiful. I agree with Lynn - the top picture seems familiar (background wise)... perhaps you have used these colours previously.
I have forgiven and I've been forgiven. 70 x 7 kinds of forgiveness It works both ways. Except with our Heavenly Father. He forgives--oh, how He forgives! Yet I've never had to forgive Him. So thankful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteForgiveness is freeing! And the artwork is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteForgiveness is divine...the only way to live with joy.
ReplyDeleteI love the images that flow from your heart! I come by every Saturday through Still Saturday although I often have trouble posting.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you for sharing your beauty with the world!
Yes, Patsy, I learned the art of forgiveness. And it is so good to be set free and be free from burden. I am so thankful too that God has forgiven me. Dropping by from Spiritual Sundays.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous art to go with your meditation on forgiveness. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour journal pages are not only beautiful but they are so up lifting. I love your blog. You are spreading sunshine and it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower. Connie :)
Come on over, my welcome mat is always out.
your works are very inspiring... thanks Patsy! :)
ReplyDeleteI try to be consistent in forgiving. Every once in a while I realize I have ignored or taken a side-trip to avoid someone's situation with me. Need to let the Lord tap me and drop a name in my spirit and say, "Joanne, you need to take care of this...".
ReplyDeleteGood sharing... in Word, quotes, pictures, and the question. Thanks much.
I looked and looked at that first photo and saw a woman, too. She looked a lot different from yours, but I saw! So excited. :)
ReplyDeleteThe book of Issiah is my favorite and me too...I see the woman in the first picture...beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful works! Love your thoughts on forgiveness. Oh how important it is. Not always easy, but so important!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful gifts with us again. God has blessed you to find pictures in what others see as chaos.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
