What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

This is what's on my desk today.
The girl is different from last week
as I was not happy with how she looked,
nor was I happy that the window was on thin paper.

Here's a close up.It's more 3d.
But now I am not happy with the bird!
Too small? Too realistic?

Here is my journal for today.
"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure..."
from Matthew 13:44
When I was reflecting, I realized
that God offers us His treasures every day.
It's just that we don't recognize them.
Sometimes we don't pay attention,
sometimes His gifts are disguised
and we don't appreciate them!
May we have eyes to see
and be grateful every day for His gifts!

I was not able to visit last week as
I was not feeling well.
Promise to do better this week!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

I am rather late posting today
as I had a full body massage this morning
(umm ummm good!)
because of back pains (eeeee bad!)
Then I promptly fell asleep.

Here is my workdesk today.
I've added another layer of acrylic paint
on my canvas.
I'm not happy with the drawing of the woman
in the window. Too flat.
I think I'll have to make her more 3d.

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Here is my desk this morning.

Closer.

And closer.
I have been reading about Moses.

This is when Moses was saved out of the water
by an Egyptian princess.

And this is Moses with the miraculous burning bush.
We may not be "called" in a spectacular way,
but we can be sure that we are all
called to contribute good in the world
we live in. Like Moses, we can make all sorts
of excuses, but we can be sure that God says to us,
the same way He told Moses,
"I will be with you."

And here's my scrap canvas.
It's been really slow going, as I have been
lazy and tired.
This is the first layer of acrylic yellow and pink
after the wall putty.

Think good, speak good, live good.

"Thus says the Lord:
As the rain and the snow come down
from the heavens and do not return till they
have watered the earth,
making it yield seed for the sower
and food for others to eat,
so is my word that goes forth out from my mouth:
it will not return to me idle,
but it shall accomplish my will,
the purpose for which it has been sent."
Isaiah 55:10-11

God's Word is creative.
He said, "Let there be light,"
and there was light.
He created everything in this way.

He also gave man a part of His creative power.
In Mark 11;23, Jesus said:
"If you do not doubt in your heart,
but believe what you say will come to pass
You shall have what you say."

So we have to watch our words.
And especially be conscious that no negative words
come out of our mouth.
"We're not going to make it!"
"What dim prospects!"
"It's going to be a miserable day!"

"The good man out of the good treasure
in his heart produces what is good,
The evil man out of the evil storehouse
brings forth that which is evil,
for out of the abundance of the heart
the mouth speaks."
Luke 6:44-46

So let us fill our heart with good things,
so that we speak good things!

"...whatsover things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report,
if there be any virtue and if there be any praise,
think on these things."
Phil. 4:8

There is so much that is good and wonderful
in the world,
why is it that a lot of times
we concentrate on the negative?

I've been watching the way my mind thinks.
And I've resolved not to allow
negative thinking to run away like a mad dog,
but to reign it in, pull its leash.
I've got some ways to go yet,
being a judgmental person,
but I've got time to work on it!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

 Here's my desk today.
The scraps canvas from last week is all
puttied up and ready for a first layer of painting.
You have to dry the wall putty really well, or
the paint will whiten.
And here's my journal page.
It's all about praising the Lord
and singing to Him.
I know this helps, because one time,
I was in real pain,
and a friend who didn't know what I was
going through, texted me to say I should praise the Lord.
After she texted me several times,
I sang praises to God,
and I fell into a peaceful sleep.

Connie at Dirty Footprints Studio
is giving away visual journals and other stuff
if we tell our journal secrets.
I don't really have a secret.
I've been journalling since I was a young kid,
writing, writing, writing.
Then in 2006, I started collaging on my pages.
Now I draw and paint.
My favorite base is bookpaper
covered with wall putty.
I don't know if you want to see a close up
of my canvas, but it's the only one I'm working on at the moment!
I think I'll paint yellow and pink on it for a first layer
and we'll see how it goes from there.
