Paint Party Friday: Are You a Multimillionaire like Me?

Jesus asked blind Bartimaeus
what he wanted Jesus to do for him.
Of course Bartimaeus said,
"I want to see!"
Can you imagine being blind?
I am sure we would be willing to spend
an awesome amount of money
just to be able to see!
I know I would!

And so I can consider myself a multimillionaire
a million times over!
Because I can see, I can walk,
I can breathe without dragging an oxygen tank with me,
my heart is beating without a pacemaker,
I can enjoy food,
I have my two hands,
I can paint and draw and sing and dance
(not very well! my friend once said
I dance like a tree trunk!)

I can sweat (it's difficult if you can't!!!)
I have eyelashes and complete fingers,
I am not depressed in any way
(don't need drugs to keep me from jumping off
a bridge!)
I believe in God, I have a wonderful family
and  great relationships in and out of
Facebook (ha ha ha!!!)
Ohhhh, the list goes on and on and on!

Thank you to my clever nephew Carlo
for the animated gif!!

Indeed, like Mary,
the Lord has done great things for me!
There is so much He has done in the past
and there's more He will do in the future!

Why just today, someone asked if
I wanted to illustrate a book on creation!
BIG challenge! Will I be up to it, I wonder??

ATCs I was working on last night.

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,
Random.org chose
#37, Bluebeard and Elizabeth of Altered Book Lover.
Elizabeth is soooo generous with her
amazingly detailed tutorials!
I think I shall make her an ATC with a
rocking horse to add to her collection!

WOYWW: All These Things!

Wednesday Show Off!!!
I've been showing my desk every Wednesday
for oh so long!

Last night I was copying the Blobfish and the Axolotl,
strange creatures that God created.
I am making a book on the gift of creativity
and these funny little animals prove that
God has a sense of humor
and we should too,
about the way we draw and paint
 and scrapbook or make cards!
And that's what WOYWW is all about!
Sharing our desks, what we make,
our gifts and talents,
even if it's not perfect,
or extra special!
Take joy in the journey, that's what we say every week
when we post our messy or organized desks (or floors!)

This morning I was reading the 36th chapter of Sirach.

"Give evidence of your deeds of old;
fulfill the prophecies spoken in Your Name..."
Sirach 36:14

This is my prayer today.
Lord, give me proof of what You did before,
show me Your healing, Your saving,
Your restoring, Your miracles.
There are so many people I am praying for,
my mom, my sister, my brother,
Rosanne, Danic and Christopher with leukemia.
And myself.
We need to see your miracles O Lord!

Please fulfill the promises,
the prophecies spoken in Your Name.
God, You have soooo many promises
and I stand on Your promises.
I know that You will fulfill
Your promises to Your people!

One of them is this from Mark, chapter 10:
"There is no one who has given up house,
or brothers or sisters or mother or father
or children or lands for My sake
and for the sake of the Gospel,
who will not receive a hundred times more
now in this present age."

Is God asking us to give up these
wonderful gifts He has given us?
I don't think so!
I think Jesus is saying that if we put Him first,
we will have all this and more!

Look at my wonderful family below,
all dressed up in filipiniana attire.
We were trying to look aristocratic.
Some of us didn't quite make it!

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and
His righteousness, and
all these things shall be added unto you. "
Matthew 6:33

He Looks at Us with Love!

My family and I have been rather busy gallivanting.
Last week, we went to Singapore,
(19 of us!), and had a nice time in Universal Studios,
Marina Bay, Orchards Road, etc.
Then 2 days after we arrived,
we went to
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

A picture perfect place full of transplanted houses.

We brought filipiniana costumes and had fun
taking pictures.

So we had a summer packed full of activities,
and my son said he did not have time to
plan activities with his other friends.

I can imagine Jesus looking on,
and loving us, just as He did in Mark 10:21.
This is the story of the rich young man
who asked Jesus, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?"
And when Jesus told him about the commandments,
and the young man said, "I have done this all!",
Jesus looked at him with love.

Jesus looks at us with love too,
even when he sees our weaknesses and faults.
Because He also sees the good things we do.
He sees the time we spend in prayer,
the money we give to the poor,
how committed we are to our brothers and sisters in community.
He sees more than we see.

He sees our potential.
He sees what we can become.
He sees the gifts He gave us lying dormant, ready to be used.
He sees that if we only partner with Him,
nothing is impossible!

After all, we are made in His image!
"In His own image, He created them." Sirach 17:1
