WOYWW: Soar with Eagles' Wings!

What's on my work desk?
My new journal which I bought in Paris in 2009.
Took me a long time to decide to use it.
I wanted to keep it in it's plastic bag!!!!

On the left is my envelope of scraps.
I usually like to cut a piece to paste in my journal
and write the date on.

This morning I read from Isaiah 40.
I love these verses, 30-31:
"Though young men faint and grow weary,
and youths stagger and fall ,
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength,
they will soar as with eagles' wings;
they will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint."

When there is a storm, the eagle does not
battle with the strong winds.
It uses the wind to rise higher and higher
until it reaches above the storm to where
it is calm and peaceful.

When we are undergoing trials and challenges,
sometimes we are tempted to give up.
What we should remember is
that if we keep in faith,
if we refuse to get discouraged,
we can rise higher and higher like the eagles.
The strong winds can batter us,
the typhoon can destroy what is familiar to us,
but those same winds can bring us
to a deeper relationship with God,
and take us where we will never dream
of venturing...
a place God knows will be the best for us!

Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
He wants to lead us to
green pastures and still waters.
But sometimes we have to go through
rocky places, dark valleys,
even sometimes near ravines!
But the Good Shepherd always goes before us.

He never leaves us nor forsakes us!
This is what I hold on to
as my family goes through a dark valley
with my mom's sickness.
I know we're going to have a testimony
about going through a dark valley
to reach higher ground!
Thank you for all your prayers!

Every week I choose one wonderful visitor
who leaves a comment
to receive an ATC from me.
I know it takes so much time and effort
to leave a comment
and I appreciate it soooo much!

This week,
Random.org chose
 #7, Jen Price.
I like joining her IN THE STUDIO
party each week.
And I enjoy seeing what
she's up to!

Blessings!
Patsy

  4. Hi Patsy, I am so happy that you are safe. I thought of you and have your beautiful ATC on my desk. I love this passage you shared today. It can apply to so many situations in life from small to complex trials.
I love your journal. I too have the same problem, I buy pretty journals and then don't want to use them. I have one that I looked at yesterday that I wanted to put my spiritual quotes in and never did. Just might have to pull it out now. I love the bag of painted paper. Very pretty and coordinates well with your journal.

Sending blessings your way for you and all the people who have been affected.
    hugs,
    Belinda (7)

  6. What an amazing post. Gave me goose bumps - must have been just what I needed to hear. I love the eagle quote. Living in Alaska I actually see eagles frequently and they never fail to inspire me.
I knew I was going to like your post when I saw that wonderful pile of goodies in the first photo! I find more and more, I like playing with that kind of thing. I thought your journal pages were lovely - the backgrounds and the writing.
Sending prayers for your Mom...thanks again for a great post.

  8. What a beautiful post. I love that scripture too it reminds me of my late Dad who loved watching the birds of prey and flying his model gliders using the winds. Love the journal and the idea of using scraps for the date too. BJ#37
