WOYWW: Give Him Praise!

Happy 5th Anniversary to all my
friends from all over the world!
On my desk, I'm starting a new commission.

I spent the weekend making ATCs.
If anyone wants to swap, you can
leave me your email address in the comments.
Sorry, WOYWWers,
this post is super long, but I get so
excited about what I read about in the Bible!

These days I've been reading about Saint Paul.
He was a magnificent personality!
Quite funny that I chose to make Rand Paul
into Saint Paul because Time Magazine
describes him as a man with
a "missionary zeal"!!!

"What therefore you unknowingly worship,
I proclaim to you, the God who made the world
and all that is in it, the Lord of Heaven and Earth...
He fixed the ordered seasons...
so that people might seek God,
even perhaps grope for Him and find Him,
though indeed He is not far from any one of us."
Acts 17:23-27

Paul said these words in Athens where he noticed
so many temples dedicated to idols.
One altar caught his eye, an altar

Creation is God's first missionary.
All of creation shouts out about
God's majesty and power!
“Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)
“Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)

"For ever since the world was created,
people have seen the earth and sky.
Through everything God made,
they can clearly see his invisible qualities--
his eternal power and divine nature.
So they have no excuse for not knowing God."
Romans 1:20

 “Men go abroad to wonder
at the heights of mountains,
at the huge waves of the sea,
at the long courses of the rivers,
at the vast compass of the ocean,
at the circular motions of the stars,
and they pass by themselves without wondering.”
St. Augustine

We, our human body, our minds, our soul,
are God's greatest miracles!

I can't say it better than Louie Giglio in this video.
It's worth watching!
At the end of the video he talks about
how we are "fearfully and wonderfully made"
Psalm 139:14,
how we are made of 75 trillion cells,
and that every 3 seconds,
50,000 cells die and are replaced by brand new cells!
And how LAMININE, a cell adhesion molecule
looks like this under a microscope-
THIS is what holds our cells together,
our body together!

It's in the form of a cross!
God left His signature on our bodies!
Isn't that usually what an artist does?

"About midnight, while Paul and Silas
were praying and singing hymns to God
as the prisoners listened,
there was suddenly such a severe earthquake
that the foundations of the jail shook..."
Acts 16:25-26

During his ministry, Saint Paul spent
more than 5 years in prison.
Like him, we should learn to praise
and thank God wherever we are,
in whatever circumstance.
Praise and thanksgiving changes our minds,
our attitudes, even changes circumstances!
Like shouts of praise brought down
the walls of Jericho, thanksgiving
can dismantle strongholds,
and causes chains to be broken.

I remember when the management
in a mall where we had a store,
were determined to get us out because we
did not have high sales like the other
brand name shops they preferred.
But it was one of our best stores,
and it would be very bad for our bottom line
if we lost our space!
So I walked around the store
7 or more times and praised God!
Well, we still have our space,
and in a better location than before!!!

I think about David and why God loved him
so much even if he sinned many times.
Perhaps it is because he had a wonderful
relationship with His Father!
God called David "a man after my own heart",
and David composed many wonderful songs
and danced for God. Even if people
thought he was crazy!

Knowing God should lead us to praise and worship.
Otherwise we would be just like the devil.
The devil knows God and knows with conviction
who Jesus is, even more than we do,
BUT chooses not to worship God.

Let our knowledge about who God is to us
travel from our mind down to our heart!
Give Him the praise He deserves!!!

  11. Me again - those facial expressions are wonderful! Have a lovely week. Hugs, Chris # 15 xx

  12. Paul is an amazing man to study. Have you read Beth Moore's book "To Live is Christ?" I recommend it. Sometimes I tend to look at Biblical characters and think they were born saints. But they were humans just like us--yet gave their past to God. Amazing art!

  13. Your atc went postal tonight, love your post as always and thanks for sharing over the years.

    Hugs Eliza & Yoda #8

  27. Hi Patsy,

The base of your ATCs look very cool! Congratulations on your new commission work.

I honestly didn't think it would take me this long to visit WOYWW desks but here I am, finally!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
    Peace, Kay (89)

  28. Hi Patsy. Sorry I'm so late commenting - John came out of hospital Thursday afternoon, and it has all been rather strange since then - getting used to him being home etc. But we do praise Father God that He has worked on our behalf and brought John back.
Thanks for visiting and for your comments.
I'll happily swap ATCs with you, Patsy. It may be a few days before I get it into the post - as I have run out, and need to make a few more. I started them this morning - but then life got in the way!! You WILL receive one from me.
    Margaret #26

  29. Hi Patsy! I stumbled upon your blog from Wise Woman Builds Her Home. I'm not an artist (I'm a writer) but I LOVE your art. My sister is an artist and I will be forwarding her your blog. I enjoyed looking over your work! It is beautiful.

I am so glad you dropped by! You are a blessing!
