“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 136:1
I just finished the last episode of Stranger Things. One thing stands out, the victims had no choice in whether to join the evil monster or not. They just became a part of its body, as it got bigger and bigger.
Jesus wants us to be a part of His Body, but He never forces us to do so. He is very gentle and generous with us. He did all the hard work. He came down and joined us here on earth, walked the dusty streets of Galilee, from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, Capernaum, and Jericho on His final journey to the Via Dolorosa to Calvary.
Jesus was the One who became bloodied and battered on Calvary FOR US to be reconciled with the Father. It is OUR choice always to accept His sacrifice, His forgiveness, and His mercy that endures forever. Jesus did it for all, even the man or woman who murders, spouts curses, trolls, prostitutes himself or herself for money in different ways.
Do we say ‘yes’ to Jesus’ call or ‘not yet’ like so many do, thinking there is no freedom in following the Lord? If we give ourselves to the Lord, we will receive the greatest freedom that we have ever known!
